My trembling hand reached for the doorknob, the skin of my palm felt strangely hot. Slowly, I pulled the door open, my body leaned slightly forward from exhaustion but the moment I lifted my head, my brows knitted together in confusion. Four men were standing outside and all of them wore formal black suits, they stood in a perfectly straight line. "Huh?" Panic immediately surged through me, I instinctively tried to close the door, but before I could... "Elena Swan." One of the men stepped forward, his voice was deep and firm. "Nineteen years old. Currently enrolled at K University. Orphan. Living with her boyfriend." My entire body froze, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up instantly.

I leaned back in my dining chair, my eyes staring at the small back that had been lying next to me in my bed these past couple of days. The gentle sway of her hips reminded me of how many times I had wrapped my hands around them, holding her tight while I whispered sweet nothings in her ear and made endless love to her. My little swan had completely adapted to being mine. She complied with everything I said, followed my rules, and had even become happier now that I allowed her to go back to campus, roaming public spaces again. Little does she know it was because I'm building a case where I can probably have more chance in venturing our adventure to public space.

I slam down on the barrier in my mine, realizing that I eased up on it momentarily. Kieran lets out an exasperated sigh, his eyes rolling back in his head. “There is no woman for you to plot a murder against Mother.” He says, some strange emotion coating each word that he speaks. “You know I have my sights set on claiming the Wolf Queen to gain dominion over all.” Something in the way he says ‘wolf queen’ has me pausing to look at him more closely. Sweat appears on his forehead as his eyes shift to avoid my gaze and he swallows past the lump that suddenly appears in his throat. My eyes widen in shock. The young fool has already met the Wolf Queen and has become besotted with her.

Rather you like it or not I will be your Queen soon enough and you will all bow to me. Maybe once I rip a few of your throats out, you will learn to tread carefully.”

“No… I’m not…” “Yes,” Sera said, her voice firm. “You are not just a mate. You are not just a wolf. You are a queen reborn.” The pendant flared with light. And Aria’s world changed again.

"The palace is no longer safe for you." Astria's warning stayed in my head long after our conversation ended. I left the training grounds without telling Valdanus what was wrong. He called my name once, but I kept walking because I didn't even know how to explain any of this. How was I supposed to tell anyone that the Queen of Dragons lived inside my head? I returned to my room before sunset. The moment the door closed behind me, I pulled back my sleeve and stared at the mark on my wrist.

Did Alpha King already accept me as his daughter's mate? "I…I'm feeling…pain," she whined, swaying her body to reduce the pain, and the fabric of her gown scattered slowly as her wolf was attempting to come out. The churning of bones and limbs couldn't be avoided in the process of shifting. She would have to go through this pain. He looks up from a stack of reports. “I’m moving forward with the engagement,” I say. Jake raises a brow. “The Queen?” “She’s growing more vocal in her disapproval of me. The pressure’s not going away.”
