Bad Boss: An Office Romance
We came across large branches and dead trees, needing to climb over them or duck.
We came to an opening in the woods, and my jaw dropped when I saw a crystal blue lake, the clearest I’d ever seen with rocks instead of sand along the beach, clumps of snow around the few driftwood logs on the edge of the lake. An eagle swooped down, its talon skidding across the water, then darted into the sky, its caw echoing through the still air.
“This is amazing,” I said quietly, more steam expelling from my mouth.
