It looked like something out of a warrior's legend, hidden in plain sight all this time. My jaw dropped as I took the full picture. Shelves overflowed with strange vials filled with colorful liquids which were potions. And against the walls leaned an impressive collection of weapons – swords, daggers, even what looked like a giant crossbow! Everything screamed "warrior training," and for a moment, I was mesmerized. Reaching out, I instinctively picked up a well-balanced knife, hefting it in my hand to test its weight.

Moonstone accents adorned his gauntlets, greaves, and chest plate, pulsating with magical energy that resonated. In his hand, he wielded a sword forged from pure moonstone, its blade glowing softly with an inner light. “Sanguis Umbra... arise.” From my back, wings exploded—jagged, glass-like constructs of obsidian laced with crimson veins. The sky flickered with lightning as the blood in my veins answered my call. A hiss escaped my lips as my sword appeared—Crimson Mourning—forged in the underworld and fed with the souls of fallen enemies. The blade thrummed in my hand, alive, hungry. All around us, the wizards unleashed their spells. Lightning, flame, frost—chaotic and furious. But I moved with the grace of a phantom, slicing through the spells as I charged forward.

The glowing fountain bubbled and soon, Luke leaned around a rack. He eyed Duke for a moment. “You look like you can at least stay awake. We’re brewing your first potion today!” Duke huffed and we walked round the shelf to see the table that he’d set up to brew potions. We took our places around a large table where various ingredients and tools were laid out. I didn’t recognize most of it, but I listened as Luke started to explain what the ingredients were and introduced the basics behind brewing potions. “You’ll find that anything you buy from a supernatural seller, like hair products, was made by a potioneer. The school uses a lot of potions all the time, so look forward to brewing gigantic

Now, she seemed more like the store keeper, and Scarlett, a buyer. "Yes, yes. Morning. What can I do for you? I have a lot of amazing potions, made with wisdom from three goddesses. I have a fine drink that can make your face even more beautiful and glow radiantly, as well as one that can make your body features more pronounced." The shelves jumped out of the way as he approached. The long table was littered with all sorts of things–potion ingredients (owl feathers, hairs from cat tail, nail of a cougar, bat wings, rattlesnake fangs, and a myriad other things he couldn’t identify), funny looking powder, a pewter cauldron on a gas stove with a ladle beside it, an athame, a wand, a mortar and pestle with what looked like shriveled frogs inside it, a pair of gleaming golden weighing scales, a small broom, a box full of glass bottles, an assortments of herbs, other odds and ends, and a stuffed cat. Or at least, Aaron thought it was a stuffed cat until it jumped down the table, startling Aaron. Keyah let out a yelp.

“The Shadow Sword can break through the veil, can it not?” “It can,” I reply. “But I have to use my full powers to charge it first.” He motions for me to lay it on the table. I cast Westfall a reluctant glance before unsheathing the sword and setting it before the old man. He picks up the bowl and dumps out the contents–a few drops of the tears–onto the sword. The tears sink into the black metal and send a soft ripple of light down the length of the sword. “Like calls to like,” Arthur says.
