Sworn Enemies Novels & Stories

Zara's POV My dad's shouts from downstairs wakes me up. I sit up, disoriented and angry at him but his tone makes me realize it is something serious. I change out of my pajamas, and hurry downstairs to find out what is wrong. I nudge my brother who is standing quietly by the stairs. "What is going on?" I whisper in his ear. " The same old rivalry between our pack and the royals, but this time someone fucked up" The blood moon pack and the royal pack have been at loggerhead for years now, even before I was born. I don't actually know what started the whole thing, only rumors about how our ancestors betrayed each other.

Unlike the many confused experts, Duncan and Norvin exchanged a look and saw a hint of joy in each other’s suspicion. Andrius and the Insect Ruler were both great enemies of the Swallow family. The Swallow family was happy to see them fight each other. The best-case scenario would be for them to injure each other, and then the Swallows could take advantage of the situation to win the position of Alliance Chief. “Andrius!” The Insect Ruler shouted, his rage completely bursting out from his chest. “Have you gone mad? Do you really think that I won’t kill you?”

I said to her, and she goes towards alpha Marco's direction and glared at her. Lucy is not happy with all this, and she will give hard time to Marco who is looking at her roaring mate with a happy expression. Now I am out of their life because I get what I want, and alpha Marco is out of my dictionary from now on. "The matter between us is close and there will be harmony between our territories," I said to him in a stern voice, and he agreed. We take a vow that we will bite come in each other way and if anyone tries to break the code, then war will be necessary which none of us want.

Then he let out a low chuckle, like I had just told him the funniest joke in the world. He patted my shoulder one last time before letting go, the ash from his cigar drifting down between us. “War, then,” he muttered. His voice wasn’t loud, but it carried the weight of a fucking hammer. “If you walk out that door, Cesare, you’re no longer my blood. No longer under my wing. You’re an enemy. And I don’t show pity to enemies. Not you. Not anyone.” I clenched my jaw, muscles twitching in my face as I held his stare. I didn't fucking care anymore.

I motioned to the dining table for us to sit, and when she was seated, she clasped her hands as she waited for me to start. “So, where do you want me to start,” I asked nervously. “You’re an acquaintance of my brothers, but I’ve done some research on the internet, and it says your family and mine are enemies.” Her eyes filled with tears. “When our fathers were in charge, we were, but since Luca and I took over, it’s a bit more civil, and I would never hurt you.” “I know that,” she admitted. “Will I have to choose?” “Do you think your brothers would make you choose?” I asked her, suddenly terrified of what she might say.

"At least let me hunt them. Your sister is my mate and seeing her in this condition made me feel like I failed my vow to protect her." I looked at him. "You're not going anywhere, Griego. You'll stay here with her until she regained her energy," I said. "But—" I cut him off. "As your Alpha, I command you to trust my words and my ways in dealing with our enemies." He bowed his head before apologizing. The Shadows can't start another war... at least not when they doesn't even have the full presence of their Alpha.

Becky was apprehended once more—but it didn’t feel like the triumph I previously believed it would be. Another player had entered the game. One more enemy. The Architect . And I understood… it was merely getting started .

“Who are you, Jayden Malroy?” “I am your partner, Marcus Sullivan. Your slave. Your prisoner. I am anything you want me to be, just,” I paused, my gaze softening, “don’t doubt me,” I concluded hoarsely. His eyes searched mine. “Are you a plant, Jayden?” “No.” “Are you a spy?” “No.” “Are you a threat to me or my people?” “Never.” He held my gaze. “Do you work for the government?” “No.” He stared harder, then glanced to the side. He sat down. I moved back to my seat.

"But Blackthorne's still bigger. More influential." I glanced over at him again. There was no mistaking it — he carried the same kind of weight the triplets did, that same commanding presence. His eyes hadn't moved from me once. "He and the Blackthorne triplets Alphas are sworn enemies," Rita whispered, right before Leo called her name to get the game going. ‘Sworn enemies?’ I thought, the words sat heavy in my chest. The game began, and I reached for another drink, gulping it down without a second thought.
