“Follow me.” Rae stands up and so does Nathan and both follow me as I head towards the library. When we enter the library I tell Rae “Wait here for a moment.” and make my way up one of the staircases searching a nearby shelf. My fingers run across the spines of books until I found it. Pulling out the book I make my way down to Rae handing it to her.

"Well it's true, he begged but I also want you to give chances on those who's wanting to have you. We don't know, maybe this time they're worth it." I know I am sounding hilarious right now. Who is on their right mind will give chance to others when they just got their heartbreaks? Oh, I nearly forgot, I did, Haha. Anyways, I just want them to be happy to. I am scared too, but I took a step forward, and now I can say that it's working taking the risk. "Mhmm, I see. Well, I'll think about it." Woah, thankfully she listen to it eventhough I almost sounded weird.

Many people were getting nervous and reading something. She saw them and smiled. She was once like this, reading and revising everything until the last minute. Her maternal uncle told her that time not to read until the last moment, it will ruin everything that you have prepared earlier. She used that rule once and when it helped her to calm down before the exam, she made it a thumb rule for her. She took a magazine from the table beside her. It was a business magazine. “Well, we will soon find out.” With my head held high, we walk through the crowd to the table. As I sit down across from Chance, I grab one bottle of beer from the center of the table. Before I can even take a drink, Chance huffs, “Are you ready to give me your keys? You know you can’t avoid it.” A soft chuckle spills from me and David as I shrug my shoulders and take a drink of beer. Kai, sitting beside Chance, elbows him. “Hey, you don’t know if you have won, so don’t be jumping to conclusions. Okay.”

“No—you just seem to think you have to be great at something for it to be worth doing. That’s not always the case, you know. Sometimes, you can do things just because they’re fun, even if you’re not the best at them.” “I think you have me confused with my sister. I’m not the one who always wants to be the best.” He shrugged. “Maybe not always—I’m just saying, it’s okay to be vulnerable, to take a chance. That’s all.” She studied him for a moment, noticing out of the corner of her eye that almost everyone had moved on, heading for their cars as quickly as they could through the snow, and she didn’t see her dad. “Are you all about taking chances?” she asked, wondering if he was a practitioner

There were moments in life where you just instinctively knew you had to take a chance. This was one of those moments.

Nothing good ever happens to me. I take some deep breaths and I put my shoes on. I opened the door and the scent hits me again. I give a couple of steps and I stop in front of her door taking in her smell. I shake my head telling myself this can’t happen and I walk downstairs towards outside. There’s a big tent in the back garden of the house and I can hear people talking. The noise is defining. The pack was sent to only had the elders unmarked. I never got to mark Emily. A year appears on the corner of my eye and I shake all those thoughts away from my head as I walk inside the tent.
