It’s time to receive the book,’ he said authoritatively. ‘The book is out there, everybody is free to get a copy and read.’ The driver stretched his hand to the back seat, got a copy of Captured in a rucksack, and handed it to the young man. ‘Open page 23,’ he instructed.

I continued to speak to myself until I settled upon the decision; that I would continue with the debate with myself later on and help Mary first. "What powers should she be given? Invisibility? Mind reading? Ughhh! I am gone crazy! Wait, the book!" I turned around to go back to my room and get the book for the guidance but then something stopped me. The book was already there, on the ground. 'It wasn't here before.' I thought to myself. Ignoring how it got there, I bent down and picked it up. Without wasting a further minute, I began turning over the pages until my sight landed on a heading saying, 'The Manipulation Powers.'

She looked proud as she explained this, but deep down, I had a feeling her father used these as leverage. She walked over to the end of the bookshelf, pulling out a black leather-bound book tied with a thin rope. Carved into the leather were the words ‘Book of Transcendents’. Maleigha motioned to a small round table and the three of us sat down. She handed the book to Kai and he opened to the first page.

The library felt like a gift, and that was what made it dangerous. I moved slowly along the shelves, trailing my fingers across the spines of books. The contact sent a faint shiver through me, not pleasure exactly, but recognition. Something inside me loosened, not relief and not comfort, but a thin strand of control I had not realized was missing. The titles were familiar in tone if not in detail. Business. Finance. Strategy. Leadership. Negotiation. The kinds of books men like Jaden collected to justify their decisions after the fact, volumes that framed dominance as intelligence and conquest as foresight.

Megan's POV I couldn't believe I was holding a photo album in my hands. I didn’t understand why Ashton was giving me something like this, and my curiosity heightened. I became more excited to look at everything inside the old album. I slowly sat at the edge of the bed, leaned my back against the headboard, placed the memory book on my lap, and started scanning the old photo album.

Realization hit me as I looked up at a serious looking Alexander. "You Alexander are just as big of a manipulator as I am. We've been manipulating each other every step of the way. It seems you one upped me because I definitely said to much. To bad for you though I'm always 1000s of steps ahead and think of everything and had safety precautions up just in case. So the moment I restore this book they will activate. " I said as I flipped to the last page and restored it causing the book to illuminate power all over.

I moan loudly as my body contracts up. He blurts like a wave, completely attached at vampire speed, finger-flapping it to its hooded reveal. I cry. I beg! I try to grab his hand, but he pulls his furious fingers away, and he lets go of our intertwined hands to fist both my wrists. My clit burns through it pulsating, and I can't do anything but lay there through his dominating demands. Before I could release my breath, my body contracted, and I was lifted like someone was performing an exorcism.

Never him, whatever he is planning, I can deal with it later, for now, what matters is he got the book. He approached the book, it is now laying in the ground after Jonathan was sucked inside it. He crouched down and picked it up carefully, savoring the moment. At last, the book is his, the 3rd Seal has been broken. This is it, his victory, all of his preparation, his planning, it all leads to this, him acquiring the book.

I didn’t want our relationship to turn sour. The phone stopped, and a message from Tony appeared after a minute. Mission accomplished. The takeover is through. Congratulations! – Tony. I frowned at the message, remembering Emilia had mentioned a hostile takeover they were planning. Whose company were they taking over? I had no way of knowing. Killian was about to emerge, and I placed the phone where it was. Quickly putting on my clothes, I waited to freshen up. He emerged and frowned at me, walking over to pick up his phone. “I hope you haven’t touched it.”
