The Marked Mate of the Lycan King

The Marked Mate of the Lycan King

"We’re all out of it. Go on, get your bark and get out of here before the doctor catches you. He’s in a foul mood." I nodded and hurried out, my hand pressed against my pocket. I could feel the shard through the fabric. It felt like it was humming, a low vibration that made my skin crawl. I didn't go back to my post. I went to my small room in the barracks and locked the door. I sat on the edge of my cot and pulled the shard out. "What are you?" I whispered to the empty room. I remembered an old story my grandfather used to tell. He talked about the Shadow Shards—stones dipped in a poison so slow and so deep that no medicine could touch it. It didn't kill the body right away. It ate the soul

HIDDEN HOWL

HIDDEN HOWL

Then, they blinked. I reacted instantly, moving in front of her and shoving her back toward the bed as she stumbled but didn’t protest and her eyes locked on the darkness outside. The shape emerged slowly peeling itself away from the night as though the shadows themselves had birthed it. A figure, tall and lean moving with the wrong kind of grace too fluid and too unnatural. It wasn’t a wolf and it wasn’t human but I knew the stories. Shadowborn. Whispers from my childhood clawed through my head. Creatures born of curses and hunting the bond between mates. Neither wolf nor man. Beasts that thrived on what was most sacred to us, feeding on the connection the Moon Goddess forged.

The Lycan King and the Feral Twin

The Lycan King and the Feral Twin

They gathered the children of the village around a crackling bonfire and began to tell a story that sent shivers down everyone's spines. "Children," began Oliver's father in a hushed voice, "gather 'round and listen closely to the tale of 'The Whispering Shadows'." A time long ago, the villagers spoke of a hidden corner of the forest where ancient, twisted trees grew close together, creating a sinister canopy that blocked out the sunlight. Legend had it that this place was home to creatures known as the Whispering Shadows. These shadows were said to be spirits of misbehaved children who had ventured too far into the forest, never to return.

Shadowed Crown

Shadowed Crown

The freaky end of days was coming. I faced the camera, my voice steady for all the people in the city to hear. "The freaky apocalypse is here, folks. I'm going to help you out as best I can. First up, find cover where the wind can't get you, subways, basements, factories, banks, any safe spot." Lights flickered on in every underground parking lot. The ground rumbled with a deep roar, setting the stage for Jim as he led his crew of infant spirits into a clash with the Haunts that sliced through the wind.

The Light's Shadow

I'm hoping to give it a more gothic theme rather than romantic. "I decided on making it a romantic fantasy," Nice, Christine. "It follows a teacher with a hidden desire lurking inside of her. She tries resisting, but her new home holds a monster that brings that desire out. And she realizes that her life may be a lie." "What's called, Christine?" I smiled at her question. "It's called The Shadow that Lurks Within," Jessica didn't say anything else, and we continued to look around in silence. John was holding five different onesies, all with different animals on them.

The Third Shadow

The Third Shadow

On our wedding night, my wife, who almost never drank, got wasted because she was supposedly too happy. Just when I didn't know what to do, my best friend sent me a long message explaining how to take care of her. I blushed, but I still followed his instructions and soothed her the way he described. Natalie, who had been making a scene, miraculously quieted down. But just as I was about to call my friend and thank him, Natalie suddenly hugged me from behind. Heartbroken, she whispered, "Ashton Hawke, you're the one I wanted to marry." As she said it, the tattoo near her heart slipped into view: a hawk with its wings spread wide. My mind went blank. Ashton Hawke was my best friend of

The Moon Shadow

The Moon Shadow

The night sounds were now a symphony, each rustle and whisper an intricate melody. As the final remnants of my human form dissolved, I stood tall and proud in my complete wolf shape. My howl echoed through the woods, a triumphant declaration of my shift. Rose dashed deeper into the woods, heading toward the most mysterious, beautiful, alluring, and dangerous place, tracing the source of that peculiar pine scent. Find him. Kiss him. Mate with him.

In the Shadow of Lies

In the Shadow of Lies

Without looking back, I vanished into the snow. Andrew stood in the snow, staring in the direction I had gone. His hoarse voice drifted through the wind. "You won't abandon me, Eleanor." A month later, at a bar in Glaciercrest Pack, I sat by the window, sipping coffee as I admired the snowy landscape outside. The murmurs of travelers around me reached my ears. "Did you hear? Darkmoon Pack’s strongest warrior confessed to murdering his ex-father-in-law and was sentenced today." My fingers froze around my coffee cup.

Probably the most challenging story I have written. With about 5 drafts and two years of crafting, it’s my longest work. It’s thrilling. I revisit it sometimes and, he, even I get overwhelmed and awed. I mean, it feels like I’m not the one who wrote it.

I love the world building of this novel! Even when you’re only in chapter one you can already see how the author meticulously planned the settings of the story. It’s descriptive so even if the world is new and unfamiliar the readers could still easily imagine what it’s like.
