I asked, wandering into the kitchen as Nova rummaged through the cupboards for anything remotely edible. “Whenever they’re free, I think,” she said, hopping up to sit on the kitchen island. “I’m nervous, but Aiden told me not to worry, so… I’m trying.” A small smile flickered across her lips. Then she narrowed her eyes at me. “Now, back to you, my sweet, innocent Eli.” She wiggled her brows, and I burst out laughing. “I’m sweet, sure, but you hit a wall with the ‘innocent’ part,” I said with a smirk, sliding onto the island beside her.

After placing the dish I reluctantly left the devil s room. I took a part-time job as a maid over here in the Jones Mansion. You know they say that 'you should know your friends close but you should know your enemy like the palm of your hands. I walked past the rooms in the hallway to the kitchen which was in some other corner of the mansion. "Madison! Please take these plates to the dining room for dinner," said the head maid, Chiara. I nodded and then walked to the dining room with the plates in my hands placed neatly with the utensils in front of each chair.

When I got back to the rental apartment, night had already fallen. The air was thick with dampness and mold, mixed with the greasy scent of cheap takeout. On the table sat a grilled cheese sandwich and a bowl of tomato soup, still steaming. Tiffany Jensen was sitting on the edge of the bed, scrolling through her phone. She did not even look up when I walked in. A few hours ago, I would have been over the moon and thought that, despite her harsh words, she still cared about me deep down. Now, I walked past the table without a glance, heading straight for the beat-up wardrobe in the corner to pack my few faded T-shirts.

"Well, well, well, who do we have here? The one and only Hazel Coleman" It was a she and she said my name in a tiny voice attempting to mock mine. It was not another late night shopper, I knew that voice. My stomach flipped because I realize where I was, and I had come face to face with the only nightmare I had in this pack. "Or better still, Mrs Hazel Kingston" she said, clapping. Tatiana Harris. And she was glowering at me.

The moment I entered, I saw the last people I wanted to see. Caelen, Marnie—Caelen’s mother, and Samantha. All three turned at once, staring like I was some creature that had wandered in by accident. “Kiva?” Caelen stood abruptly, his voice rising. “What the hell are you doing here?” I kept my tone light. “Dinner, of course.” I ignored the tight looks from Marnie, the glare Samantha didn’t bother to hide, and made my way to the only open table.

“No… no, she wouldn’t—” “She already has,” Lucien cut in. Silence. Heavy. Crushing. Tatiana’s mind raced. “She’ll come for them,” she whispered. Lucien didn’t deny it. Tatiana turned toward the hallway instinctively. Toward where her siblings were. “I need to see them.” “You will,” Lucien said. But she was already moving. Fast. Her heart pounding harder with every step. ⸻ She reached the room and pushed the door open. Kathy was still asleep.

"What exactly happened that you became unable to receive my twenty three calls or even reply to my twenty eight messages?" Should I tell him? "Err..Vishal, actually-" "Cat got your tongue or what?" "I guess Rehan is having nightmares. And I don't know how I drifted to sleep. I am sorry." After hearing, his face went blank. "That means he might have woken up from his sleep but then how you....I don't get it Mayra." He spoke, hesitantly. I blushed all shades of red. Actually Vishal gave me dare to kiss Rehan on his cheeks while he’s asleep and when I completed my dare, I realised that he was having nightmares and next I know, I was in his arms.

Anna broke down in the driveway in front of Tatiana’s house before storming back inside the house. Tatiana and her girls were busy giggling amongst themselves when Jay walked up to them. “Tatiana, what the f**k did you put in that drink you gave me?” He asked as his eyes darkened. Tatiana shrugged innocently at Jay’s question, “Nothing,” she said as Jay walked closer to her, “Cut the bullshit, Tati, I know you,” he said as Tatiana smirk before crossing her arms, “Why do you even care about that b**ch anyway, I did you a favor,” she said as Jay blew up.

It didn’t make sense, Ana hoped Xavier would be good for George and not try to go crazy. After her dinner came, she ate it, and the dishes were taken away. Ana’s thoughts and training practice were interrupted by a sound at her door. She recognized the irritating voice in the corridor as that of Tatiana. Ana barely had a chance to straighten and stand before the door they threw to her cell open. Light poured in from the corridor and blinded Ana’s green eyes. Her pale hand went the shield her eyes as she waited for the light to leave or her eyes to adjust.

Mom glances over at me with a curious look and then states, "Breakfast will be ready in a minute. I threw some cinnamon rolls in the oven and they still have a minute or two before they are brown." Smiling, I reply, "Oh, that sounds yummy mom. Thanks." Sitting down at the table, I wait patiently as I drink my orange juice. Mom glances over at me again and asks, "Did you have anymore nightmares last night?" "Yes, I don't know what is going on. Ever since Billie gave me Charlie, I have been having this same bad dream over and over. It is so real that I peed the bed, I'm sorry."
