It opened up on my floor and as soon as I was in my bedroom, I slammed the door shut and leaned against it; breathing hard. I managed to move to the bed, overwhelmed by a whirlwind of emotions. My heart felt heavy, burdened by the weight of sadness. As tears welled up in my eyes, a deep ache settled in my chest. I could feel the first tear escape, tracing a path down my cheek. It was warm against my skin, a tangible manifestation of the pain within. Soon, more tears followed, forming a steady stream that cascaded down my face. Each tear carried my moment of vulnerability and a release of pent-up emotions.

“Please.” I lowered my gaze, tears gathering in my eyes, but this time they weren’t from pain. They were from something far more dangerous, hope.

The shadows they cast mirrored the depth of her fatigue, serving as a constant reminder of the nights spent silently weeping or struggling to find solace in restless dreams. Rose's once bright and vibrant eyes now drooped lazily, lacking their usual sparkle and verve. They seemed heavy, burdened by the weight of unshed tears and unspoken worries. Their luster had dimmed, like a flickering flame desperately clinging to its last embers. Each blink appeared slow and deliberate, as if summoning the strength to stay open was an arduous task in itself.

He looked away quickly, but not before Miracle noticed the faint shimmer of unshed tears in his eyes. Though Miracle didn't know why he got emotional, she still sat at the side in silence, waiting for him to continue. However, he was unable to do it.

He smiled showing a full set of his teeth. “Why?” My voice breaks, the hurt coming to the surface as tears cloud my tear duct threatening to spill. “Stop crying when you hurt, I hurt too.” His fingers caged the tear from my tear lid. “I hurt without you and hurt more when you tear up. Don’t cry because I’ll burn this world into ashes, a sullen mud of pitiable debris if one more tear slid down these pretty blue eyes of yours.”

With every step I took, fresh tears ran down the lengths of my face. At this point, my eyes hurt. I wondered how much tears are too much. At what point does the tears completely dry up, and we become unable to cry again? If there really was a day like that, I couldn't wait for it. I turned on the lights in my room, and the darkness was instantly consumed. It was just as cold as the living room. Maybe even colder. With just a closet, a bed, and a dressing table.

I immediately rushed to wipe it off but she shook her head. "Contrary to what everyone says, tears are not a sign of weakness. Instead it only means that you feel things deeply. Your life has not been the most perfect the past few years and only the blind would pretend like it didn't hurt him." Her words continued to stretch into my heart, twisting and turning, almost as though I was before a surgeon who was making a new heart.

He kept the pad of his finger on my cheek and took a drop on his finger pad. “ These tears are very costly. They contain mascara which is a thousand bucks, then eyeliner which is three thousand bucks, then it smudges the costly foundation and other things that are applied on your cheeks, then it has feelings which are priceless. So you see these things make these tears priceless. Next time think before you let them leave your eyes.” A smile made its way to hearing his cheesy words. Seeing my smile, his lips curled in a beautiful smile. He pulled me in his embrace.
