Tears blurred my vision as I made a beeline for the bathroom.
Once inside, I locked the door behind me, the click of the lock sounding unusually loud in the silence. I leaned against the door, my breath coming in short, ragged gasps. The tears that I had been holding back now flowed freely, each one a testament to the pain and frustration I felt.
I slid down the door, my knees drawn up to my chest. The cool tiles of the bathroom floor were a stark contrast to the heat of my tears. I buried my face in my hands, my sobs echoing off the walls.
