RHONDA Theodore was the most delusional person I had ever had the misery of knowing. Not wanting to waste my annoyance on him, I allowed him to take some of the food and ate with us around the counter. “Are you ready for your surprise?” he asked Leo once we were done eating. “Yes!” he beamed. “Okay. He bluntly replied, then came closer to us, trying to grab my arm and drag me away, but got stopped in his tracks by Marcus’s sudden appearance. “What’s happening here?” Marcus asked, walking down the stairs, fixing his tie, coldly gazing upon us. Crap...we’re so fucked... “Nothing important.” Logan answered, looking at him totally relaxed, making me stare at him, surprised. Did he just try to cover for us? His eyes then landed on Kara and his glare suddenly changed in a rather concerned look. “Baby, what are you doing here all wet?” He then asked Kara, walking straight to her.

He drew in a steady breath before speaking. “Open it.” Theodore hesitated, his jaw tightening. “Logan—” “Open it,” Logan repeated, firmer this time. Reluctantly, Theodore crossed to the door and pulled it wide. And there he was. Kia. Logan’s estranged brother, banished, despised, yet impossible to erase. He stood framed in the doorway with that same mocking smile Logan remembered from their youth. Time had passed, but Kia looked infuriatingly untouched by it—if anything, stronger, sharper, and more good look ing. His dark hair was neatly cut, his shoulders broad beneath a tailored jacket that didn’t belong to a rogue at all.

I said. "I just don't think it's worth risking all of our lives again, Alpha," Logan said. "So what? Are we just going to sit here and wait until the next attack? I don't think so. So let's just stick to the plan about finding it and work our way to it." I suggested. "Alright, your wish is my command," Logan relented. "And what about the vampire? What should we do about him?" I asked. "What about him?" Theodore looked confused. "Do you want us to kill him?" Logan asked, his eyes were twinkling. He never did like the vampires, so any chance he gets to kill them, he will take it.

There was muttering in the hall again as none would talk louder. The syndicates started dispersing, including the two estranged Alphas. Logan sat feeling unease. He had discovered that he had some pains in his neck recently and when he swung his help, the pain would be lesser. He stood up and was about to leave the hall when the Luna called him. “Logan,” she called. “Yes, mother.” He replied. “Are you alright?” she asked as she saw him swinging his neck again. “Yes mother,” he answered, but the Luna remembered the combat night when he felt uneasy like that but lost at the end. She had been trying to get him back to his position. But seeing him in such a weak form only brought fear into her.

I was so deliciously relaxed just a minute ago, but I can feel every muscle cranking back tight again. Logan darts a glance at the partition between us and the driver before he looks at me strangely. “Did you… think I was just the wolf when I was on four legs? Did you not realize what it meant when you watched me change? We’ll have to have the rest of this conversation later, baby. Let’s get out and introduce you to Landon.” Logan gets out of the car while I try my hardest not to hyperventilate. After three deep breaths, I take his hand and climb out behind him.

To tell the truth, I also felt that I was dragging Logan down. Right then, a freezing voice suddenly drifted in from outside the doorway. "Father." Everyone turned their heads simultaneously. Logan walked inside with slow, measured steps. He had just concluded a pack council meeting, lingering wind and snow dusting his shoulders, and the gaze in his eyes was terrifyingly cold. Theodore furrowed his brows. "What? Am I wrong?" "Are you completely blind to her current situation?" he sneered. "The entire continent knows she was discarded by Raymond. With a reputation like that, how dare you claim her?"

"I'm just saying if you and Logan decided to...you know...have sex, be responsible." "Thea," I gave her a skeptical look before sighing. "I'm not stupid. Since Logan and I got back together, we weren't dating in the first place, but we made up with all the trials that have been going on. You get my point. We decided to take things slow." "Logan? Taking things slow?" She blew a raspberry and flipped her hair back. "The first day I dated Rex and met his brothers. I knew from that they don't take things slow."
