Finally, we arrived at the sunroom, a bright, airy space with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the city skyline. The late afternoon light painted everything in warm amber. Plush sofas and soft cushions were scattered around, inviting us to sink in.
We settled side by side, shoulders barely touching but close enough that every small movement felt charged. We talked about trivial things: favorite movies, his failed attempts at cooking, my guilty pleasure for cheesy romantic comedies. The ease between us was fragile but real.
