I obediently sat down without touching the dishes in front of me. "Grandma was talking to you, didn't you hear?" Mark spoke in an irritated tone. I wasn't sure if he was annoyed because I didn't hear his grandmother or because his grandmother scolded him. "Sorry, Ms. Anderson Sr., I was too hungry and didn't pay attention." I cast an apologetic glance towards her. My teacher used to say that apologies should be sincere. Actually, my haste wasn't due to extreme hunger but rather the fear of not finishing my meal promptly and facing criticism for leaving leftovers.

But one thing was sure, that he was desperate too. I just needed to find the right way to get out of this mess without burning myself or anything else that I held dear to myself. “Oh, that’s hot.” Trent whistled, and then I realized that he saw that photo. Heat burned my cheeks, I was embarrassed. “Stop snooping on me.” I pushed him. “You know they always say that the best way to get over a boy is to get under one. You followed that advice.” he chuckled. “Shut up.” I gritted.

Besides, I didn't agree to the breakup. You can't selfishly decide what happens to our relationship, Minerva. We were about to get married, weren't we?" I looked at him icily. "That was just playing house at a pizzeria, not a wedding." Harold laughed in relief when he heard that. "Was that what's been bothering you? You're throwing a tantrum because you're not happy with the wedding! Fine, then. We can prepare for another one.
