I’d take a bear right now.”

It could be vargo or Marré but Abyss…” “That is the only word I can use to express their pain. It’s deep, hollow and cold with nothing but voices echoing in their minds, forcing them to be someone they are not.”

“Lucian… don’t lie to me. Tell me.” The ground split behind us with a deafening roar. Dust and flame swallowed the passage. I met her eyes, black fire sparking in my veins, silver light flickering in hers. I grabbed Luca instinctively, holding him tight as the darkness swallowed us. Rocks and beams fell around us. Tessa and Wolf screamed above. Bishop and Vex disappeared into the abyss with us, their screams echoing like tortured ghosts. The blue energy around Luca flared, creating a protective cocoon. For a moment, I thought we were done.
