I was to present myself as a Luna. No venturing around the pack alone. My eyes skimmed through the ridiculous approved or disapproved list until I got to one that made me sick to my stomach.

My sobs shook through me, raw and ugly, but I didn’t care anymore. The Alpha crouched down, forcing my chin up so I had to look into those glowing eyes. His hand was cold against my skin, his grip cruel. “That’s what I wanted to hear,” he whispered, his voice like poison. “So do you agree to be my Luna?.” I tried to jerk my face away but he held tighter, making me wince. I couldn't stand the thought of being his. “I will never be your Luna!” The words flew out of my mouth before I could stop them.

In the backseat, Sara was quietly reading through the contract. “As you can see, you will be my chosen Luna. You are required to lead my pack with dignity and respect. You must perform your Luna duties to the best of your abilities. You are also expected to give me an heir. Of course, you will be compensated for everything,” I summarized the contract for her. “Also, as my Luna, you are not allowed to disrespect me by taking on lovers. I am the Alpha, and my Luna must act accordingly. If I find out that you are doing something like that, I promise you will...”

Pippa sober silently, I kept my face straight as she picked the document with shaking hands and read through it.
