I couldn't see anything except the silhouette of a man. Tall. Broad shoulders. A frame that filled the entire doorway. He stepped inside. The light caught his face. And I saw his eyes. Amber. Not brown. Not gold. Amber—the kind that burned in sunlight, the kind that belonged to something wild, something untamed, something that had never been caged. He looked down at me. “Hmm.”

"Why a small treasure, Amber?" "Because it's light." "Is that all, Amber?" Amber sighed. Mermaid always seemed to know when she was holding something back.

Because if this was connected to Evalie’s disappearance, if Amber's presence here was just Erlan pulling the strings, then I needed to know everything. Every second felt like an eternity. The territory meeting had already started, and my absence would be noted. Father's obsession with controlling Amber was becoming increasingly disruptive to pack business. When the elevator doors opened, I was stunned to see Amber juggling several large boxes. I recognized the ornate carvings on one of them – it contained the Celestial Clarity Inkstone, a priceless heirloom dating back centuries. "What the hell, Amber?" I blurted out. "You're like a robber raiding the den."

She tends to know things she shouldn’t. It’s easier to just roll with it.” I recommend. If Cam is surprised, she doesn’t show it. I’m starting to think there isn’t anything that can ruffle this girl. Amber nods her agreement.

After a long pause, Jade finally said, “Don’t apologize. It only shows your weakness, and you are not weak. Just regain your memories of who you really are and do what needs to be done. Everyone will be waiting, and I will be waiting, right here.” Amber nodded. Even though it will be hard, she will make sure she discovers herself and come back to find him here. She was glad by his words, to know that he will be waiting for her, and it does not matter how long. They both turned their heads immediately to look ahead of them, right at the sky and Amber saw something that looks like flocks of vampires heading right towards them and she saw something glistening. “What are those?” she asked Jade a
