The Bear A Novel Novels & Stories

Evan and Becky stood at the arbour’s entrance. The light emanating from the portal grew brighter as something moved through the portal itself and materialized there. When the light dimmed, the arbour they now overcrowded it with a black bear standing there on four paws with a knapsack clutched between his teeth. “Gemma, remove the mirror quickly. There’s no room in here for anything else to come through.”

Swiftly, I commanded the controlled bear to intercept the other one, buying me precious moments to focus on my next move. With a swift, decisive motion, I launched the blood projectiles at the charging bear, each one finding its mark with accuracy. The bear roared in pain as the hardened blood pierced its thick fur and flesh, driving it to the ground. Pressing my advantage, I locked the struggling bear in place using my mind control. The sheer effort of maintaining control over both bears and manipulating the blood was taking its toll on my mental and physical stamina, but I refused to yield. After a grueling struggle, both bears lay subdued on the ground, their breathing heavy and labored.

Ashley’s POV Two days after we set out, I stepped into the heart of the bear territory. A man of truly massive build stood beneath the porch. He had to be over two meters tall, with shoulders broad enough to block an entire wall and a thick, unruly brown beard that covered half his face. This was Boris, the Alpha and ruler of the bear pack.

I was in the middle of nowhere with nothing and no one to defend me. The figure drew out into the open area, and the moonlight shone on the monstrous beast. Covered in fur with sharp claws for hands and elongated canines for teeth, before me was a huge brown bear. Its mouth stretched wide, and a gut-wrenching, piercing roar thundered from the monstrous beast's mouth. It echoed through the wood, sending even the trees shaking with fright. I swallowed hard, the gulp very loud. Yeah! This was where I met my demise.

Stefano fired the shot and hit the brown bear. “Yes! We won again!” They screamed with joy and he smirked, “Told you I would”. Bloom stood on her toes, grabbed him by his jacket to have him bend over her a little as she pecked his cheek. He chuckled, “The deserved reward”. She nodded with red cheeks and grinned, “You did better than Ben today”. “Hey! I heard that” Benjamin frowned at them both but Bloom giggled, helping Mario to hold onto his brown bear.

I got on my bike and drove home to Colerado. My parents were waiting outside our family cabin when I pulled up on my bike. I got off and stretched my limbs. Bears weren't as social as wolves, so we didn't live in a Pack housing structure. Each family had their own homestead. Bears were solitary animals, but our human side was not. A group of bears was actually called a sleuth of bears, but in shifter communities, we called them packs. Our lead bear or strongest bear, like the wolves, was known as an alpha. My father was Alpha Gideon, and he led Big Paw Pack. I loved it here, but since I was a toddler, something pulled me to the Palace and, more notably, Princess Rori. I breathed in the famil

I take it you have the photos to show me Raven's POV Sitting upstairs in our suite, I just finished feeding Hael is dinner then giving him a bath. Now I am in his room with him sitting on my lap as I read him his bedtime story: One day the bear came to a clearing where a man was ploughing. "Good day," the bear said. "What are you doing?" "I'm ploughing," the man answered. "After I finish ploughing I'm going to harrow and then plant the field, half in wheat and half in turnips."

“You can’t kill what isn’t alive.” “Then how do we stop it?” “I don’t know.” The bear reached the outer wall. Instead of trying to break through, it simply walked over it. Its massive stone paws crushed the wall flat, timber and stone disintegrating under its weight. Wolves scattered, running from the path of destruction. The bear ignored them completely. It had eyes only for the main hall. Alina grabbed Lena from Vera. “Everyone out! Clear the hall!” People poured out of the building. The bear was fifty feet away now. Forty. Thirty.

Cace said amidst his sobs. “He won’t die Cace. He’s going to get his second chance to tell us how and what transpired between him and the bear” Aeson divulged as he walked Cace down to his room. “The bear isn’t just any normal breed of bear. It’s a rare breed and the claws are very sharp to have done much damage in a short period, it’s either the bear was being controlled by someone, or Ras’s wolf was weakened in the process of the fight.”The Healer divulged as he walked back into the room to check on Ras.
