Then he began to grow, and change, and transform, towering over us in a matter of seconds and I could feel my heart refuse to beat as he turned into a beast, one I had never seen before, his hands into literal claws and his once soft groans turned into growls, his sharp teeth mirrored only one thing- Death. Just when I thought I was going to die, his hand was off my neck and I was shoved back. Tears dipped down my cheeks, I cried out when my back hit the floor, making me arch as the pain hit me. Coughs hit me, they shook my body as tried to draw large gulps of air into my burning lungs, trying to extinguish the fire that had spread through them because of the lack of oxygen.

He stumbled back, his eyes wide with shock and anger. “It’s over,” I said, my voice steady. “Yield, or face the consequences.” The Beast glared at me, his chest heaving with exertion. For a moment, it seemed like he might surrender. But then, with a roar of defiance, he lunged at me one last time. I was ready. With a swift, decisive strike, I brought him down, ending the fight once and for all. The Beast fell to the ground, defeated. The crowd erupted in cheers, their fear replaced by relief and admiration. I stood over the fallen Beast, my chest heaving, my mind racing with thoughts of the conspiracy that had led to that moment.

Perhaps she had cried out to the animal in a terrible bout of insanity, or maybe… just maybe, the wolf was attempting to escape the mortal body that had failed her so early in life. The beast shook them both away with another roar. Aiden's side ached as he struck the ground hard. As he strained to stand, he saw the beast stumble and spill blood from its neck and eyeballs. Damon was standing over it, panting. "Is it dead?" With a raspy voice, Aiden asks. Before Damon could respond, the beast was sucked into the abyss and the ground underneath it exploded. The air was suddenly filled with a low, repetitive pulse that sounded as though it were coming directly from the ground.

He could only imagine how his brother was going to react when he found out that The Beast was actually a young, tiny Asian woman.
