The Beast By Samreen Shah Novels & Stories

One clever beastman spoke up “It smells good… but we don’t know the taste. Can we try a small piece?” Clar smiled faintly, completely confident. She leaned close to Luna and whispered “Give each of them a small bite.” Luna quickly sliced a portion with his beast knife. The moment the meat was ready the crowd lunged forward like starving wolves. The first beastman who suggested tasting widened his eyes in shock. Not only was it fragrant—it was unbelievably delicious. “I bid 100 black beast crystals!” Others immediately followed “I bid one blue beast crystal!” In the end, a scorpion-type beastman won the ten jin of roasted meat

Even her hair is different, suddenly wet and smelling of rank, briny seawater as it writhes around her shoulders like a nest of vipers. The skeleton’s face that hovers inches from my own swells with darkness, bristling with thin wavy tendrils of shadow that drift slowly through the air towards me. I hear a hollow, joyless sound emanating from the creature that was Bea. She’s laughing. A gloomy tendril of shade winds towards me, and brushes my cheek. It burns hotter than fire, colder than ice. In that moment, I snap out of it. I spring to my feet, running to the edge of the clearing, just as Bea explodes in a ball of twisting filaments of black mist, like she’s being consumed from within by a

But before I could move, the corrupted forest behind Kael's army began to shake. Trees toppled. The ground cracked and from the darkness emerged something that made every shadow creature we'd fought look like a child's toy. It stood as tall as the castle walls, its form constantly shifting—sometimes wolf-like, sometimes vaguely humanoid, sometimes just a mass of writhing darkness. Eyes—hundreds of them—opened across its surface, all burning with purple fire. The Beast. And it was looking directly at me. Kael's laughter echoed across the suddenly silent battlefield.

Doom of other packs. “You have no idea what your brother has done, Sam.” “None of it were my intentions, Bane,” Thomas defended. “I don’t wanna hear it! What is this I hear of a girl from Snow ball pack being your mate, Bane?” She asked. My head directed towards her gaze. I walked towards her, with my Alpha power. I could feel her shiver from where she stood. I knew she was definitely scared of me but was reluctant to show it. There was a reason people called me the Beast.

So there was nothing left for them to do. “Something isn’t right” Back on the sidelines, Samoa couldn’t shake off this strange sense of unease that assaulted his senses. Something didn’t feel right. They had killed the beast that threatened the sanctity of the village and its people. He should be happy. But he wasn’t. There was this discomforting feeling that was pushing onto his soul. He couldn’t help but think that something was wrong. “Wait. I finally know what that beast is!”

Amir cleared his throat and gestured to the first one who had a burned scar on his face, he was the one who had a permanent scowl on his face. “The first one is Brute, he's pure strength and force. He may be the strongest one in the pack.” Amir explained. Brute didn’t react, he just stared at us with the same usual expression he had. A big part of me feels like he doesn’t want to be here.

The Beast's eyes blazed with a fierce intensity, its gaze burning into my soul like a branding iron. I screamed, but my voice was drowned out by the Beast's deafening roar, a sound that shook the very foundations of the room. Its jaws opened wide, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth, ready to deliver the final blow. I closed my eyes, waiting for the end, but it never came. Instead, the Beast's grip on my shoulders tightened, its claws digging deeper into my skin. I opened my eyes to find the Beast's face inches from mine, its eyes blazing with a fierce hunger. Its hot breath washed over me, making my skin crawl. …

As we walked to perform what we had recently rehearsed, I felt my heart pound rapidly. Suddenly, the premonition of what happened, flashed violently into my head. The killings of 300 people in total. I knew it was indeed survival of the fittest. I looked around, with my chin held up high in pride. Good thing we weren’t given any rules in this round of dance for the beast. Cause I had plans of my own. I needed a change. “I have to attract the beast at all costs,” -------

Nobody is here, so I'll just take a quick look around. My fingers brushed apart the beads, and just like Alice in Wonderland, I fell headfirst down the rabbit hole and straight into a BDSM playroom. “Excuse me, is there anything I can help you with?” A disembodied female voice from yonder called out from God knows where. I stood as still as a statue, embarrassed to be caught gawking at all the heavy BDSM equipment in the chamber. I spun around startled, letting the beads fall back into place with a clatter. Then I came face to face with a beautiful, mature woman with raven-colored hair and steely gray eyes.

But losing to someone who was his exact opposite—sharp where Henry was warm, unpredictable where Henry was disciplined—must’ve burned like hell. I barely had time to breathe before someone’s shadow stretched over me. Three girls. The famous ones. The pretty ones. The ones who looked like they were carved out of I*******m filters and glitter. Jessica. Mara. Ally. Queen Bees of the “you don’t belong here” club. Jessica crossed her arms, looking me up and down like I was a stain on the ice. “Why was Henry hugging you?” My mouth dried. Here we go. “He wasn’t hugging me,” I lied, gripping the clipboard tighter. “He was just—”
