He let out a deafening roar as dark fur rippled across his jaw and throat, spreading over his shoulders in a wave of black that shimmered beneath the moonlight.

“Elira!” Zara’s voice rang sharp as steel through the chaos. She stood behind me, her hands weaving threads of star-magic into Maxim’s form. He was already half-gone, the Beast unfurling from his flesh—horns curling like molten stone, claws carving trenches into the earth, wings beating shadows into storm. His eyes burned, not gold, not human, but something between fire and void. He was beautiful, and he was terrifying.

I couldn't break free. Lyra clapped with delight at the sight, her laughter ringing cruelly. With a flick of magic, she forced Lily back into her true form and tossed her like a morsel to the cat attendants that were tearing into me. "Well done," she praised. He had wiped out villages all around the castle in a rampage of anger, he killed thousands of people and left their bodies in the street and only stopped once the sun began to rise again and the sky became painted as red as the blood on his body.

"Hmm...I think yoU're JuSt scarrrEd to embRrrace what you arrrrrre...grrrr.."
