“That beast above you.” Arth raised his head. “What’s he talking ab—” His lips slowly parted in shock, seeing an enormous beast with a bulked-up body. No doubt, it was a bergora, a mixed breed of a polar bear and white gorilla. It stood on the high branches of the tall trees, its dark, brown eyes fierce enough to make Arth’s heart jump. Arth yelled a curse, swiftly stepping backward as the beast suddenly jumped from the branches. The ground shook as the beast landed, strong wind blasting hard.

When you’ve hunted for the mafia, killed people they didn’t want to bloody their hands with, and taken out whole families, nothing sane remained. The little shit fired off a sloppy shot as I came at him. His movements were slow, almost clumsy - a reminder of his human frailty. And I dodged the bullet, not that it would’ve mattered much since my pain tolerance and healing ability were far above average. Seeing the black and sturdy scales, as tough as metal, told him that he had no chance of using his sword against it. No doubt… it was an A-class beast—his first ever encounter in his whole life.

He made the final bite and tore the hand right into two. The beast roared again but by now Bolt was back on the ground, as the beast growled, searching for him. Time to kick our super speed in. We ran around the beast in speedy circles, circles so fast that you could see him everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
