Lie and Regret

Lie and Regret

“Okay.” Joanna stared at me, trying to find even the slightest flicker of emotion on my face. Finally, she found it. I frowned and said to her, “You're blocking my light. I’m trying to read.” Joanna immediately started cursing, “Laura, drop the act! You’re basically a dead woman—if you have any sense, you'd leave Jack right now!” I laughed and placed the stack of daily love letters Jack had written for me right in front of her.

Bound by blood and lies

Bound by blood and lies

He laughed so hard wine nearly came out of his nose. I’d frozen in place, mid-bite, fork suspended in midair. That sound. It carved into me like sunlight thawing something frostbitten and half-dead. I'd forgotten what his real laugh sounded like. Not a memory of it—those I had plenty of—but the feel of it in the room, the echo of it in my bones. Progress.

Seven Days to Forget

Seven Days to Forget

On the third day, my memories started to decline. I constantly forgot what I was just doing or thinking. There were many times a day when I suddenly froze on the spot. With much difficulty, I finally remembered that I wanted to keep the Lego set that Raven had destroyed. Although I no longer had any hope my family would come to accept me, Grandma and I built the Lego set together. It was an important memory I had of Grandma. I would not allow them to throw such memories into the trash.

A Sip of Regret

A Sip of Regret

When I grabbed the diaper bag and picked up the tin of baby formula, I realized it felt unusually light. My heart sank. A wave of unease washed over me. I had bought this formula from abroad as Andy wouldn't drink anything else. I opened every tin of formula, only to find them all empty. Just as I was wondering where the formula had gone, Tara, who had woken up at some point, explained, "Noelle, I'm so sorry. It's my grandma's death anniversary. The sight of the baby formula reminded me of her ashes, so I poured them all out. Don't worry, though. I'll pay you back."

I started this book back in Dec when it had maybe 60 chapters. The slow updates turned me off, so I started another book that was started in Dec. The book is completed today with 157 chapters yet this 1 still hasn't made any progress. Waste of my time. It’s been 4 mths N only 40 added chapters. Smh.

HIS FATAL SHADES (BOOK-TWO)

HIS FATAL SHADES (BOOK-TWO)

I gave out a frustrated sigh, not knowing how to make him stop laughing at me. However, watching him laugh so heartily made me remember my own that just happened not long ago. It was astonishing, even for me. It was what astonished me the most—the short laugh I just had. For the first time after so many months, I had laughed. The laugh really brought back the happiness I used to divvy up with my family with Papa and Maa. It was childish, but somehow I couldn't stop laughing. I even forget about the reason why I was laughing in the first place. “Avoiding is never the problem. The inevitable will happen.” Consequently, he finally managed to stop laughing at me.

The Forgotten Daughter

he waves a hand sarcastically in front of him as if it's magical. I can't help rolling my eyes at him. Closing my eyes I take a few deep breaths. Finally I feel something within me settle and the whimpering stops. I slowly open my eyes, looking around the table at each them, as I feel a lone tear slide down my cheek. "I'm so sorry" I whispered as I lowered my head looking towards the floor, before turning to retrieve my chair and sitting down quietly. I managed a few mouthfuls of lunch but frankly my appetite had disappeared. I still had no idea what was going on, no one had said a single word throughout the rest of the meal.

Lily’s Realms: Secrets of Magic and Destiny

Lily’s Realms: Secrets of Magic and Destiny

Then, for the first time— It spoke directly to the grieving being. YOU KEPT THE PAIN. The black ocean shook softly. The grieving entity answered weakly: “Because I thought forgetting would hurt less.” The silence beneath reality stared upward. Then quietly: DID IT. The question cut deeper than anything else. Because the answer was obvious. No. Forgetting had not healed the grief. It only erased the joy attached to it, too. The grieving entity closed its eyes tightly. And suddenly— The black ocean began turning silver again. Tiny streaks of light spread through the water.

Rise Of The Broken Luna

Rise Of The Broken Luna

I stared blankly at the bookshelf in front of me. No. Absolutely not. I shoved the thought away immediately. I am not going to think about him. Especially not after the way my pulse had reacted earlier when Derek looked at me in the training grounds. And definitely not after Fiona’s teasing. Nope. I walked over to a shelf in search of a book, trying to divert my attention from dangerous thoughts. The shelves here seemed older than the others, filled with history texts, magical records, and strange psychological studies. One title immediately caught my attention. Childhood Memory Loss and Magical Trauma. My fingers stilled on the spine and slowly, I pulled the book free. A strange heaviness s

Memory Error: The Alpha Who Forgot

Memory Error: The Alpha Who Forgot

I was at an A-list fashion gala in Lumenbury. Champagne in hand, I worked the room with practiced ease. I wove through perfume, silk, and polished updos, my smile flawless and professional. But I knew he was here. I could feel it. From the dimmest, most forgettable corner of the hall, a stare found me—searing, obsessive, freighted with pain and regret. It cast an invisible net over me and pulled it taut.
