Every hand was folded for prayer, waiting for the good news. More than an hour passed, and Christian’s eyes were pinned to the emergency door. A continuous notification on his phone forced him to tear his eyes away from the door and pick up his phone lying next to him on the bench and it was notification and messages from Warren sending the articles of the smashing hit of the first part of their book, entering the bestsellers list in the first three days. “Chris!” Nikhil called him and he snapped back to the door. The doctor walked out and Christian rushed to him, holding his breath.

I rolled my eyes and turned, facing Rose who was saying something before he walked in. * I packed my books placing them in my bag as school was already over. Rose had earlier left with Max. she said they were meeting his parents. Most of the students were all gone and the few remaining, loitered around. I sat down waiting for Luca as he normally goes for backetball practices every Monday and I normally wait for him. Deciding to read a novel while waiting, I brought out a book from my bag. So I went to the counter because I don't have any patience in looking for the book. "Hello customer. What can I help you with?" "Do you have that book called "What Page Are You on, Mr. Male Lead" and "My Happiness Starts With You"?" [1] "Ah, those two books. I'm so sorry to say sir but, you can only get that book through a reservation and we currently don't have it displayed there." "Do I have to be an important person to be able to purchase those two books?" "Yes…?" I looked at the woman in the counter with menacing eyes. I must get that book whatever it takes.

I tried to read a book and I just couldn't concentrate, I even tried to organize my bookshelf but I was just so uneasy and decided to sit back and wait for him. After 50 minutes of waiting, I got up from my chair and looked outside through my office window to see if any car was approaching. I wasn't looking out for just any car, I wanted to see Max's car in particular. After looking for about 5 minutes and no car was approaching, I decided to call him again but I got a text from him saying he was almost here. I felt so relieved and sat back in my office, waiting for him while making beats with my fingers on the table.

It was black and really old looking. Although, I’m assuming that Tonya won’t have any other books locked away in her office.”

I wondered. I slowly walked around the bookstore, pretending to look at the books on the shelves, but my eyes kept drifting toward the door. I waited for someone to come in, but no one did. "Where are you?" I quietly asked under my breath. The silence inside the bookstore made me even more nervous. Every small sound made me look around, thinking someone had finally arrived. I wiped my sweaty palms on my jeans and took a slow breath to calm myself. Several minutes passed, then ten. Before I knew it, twenty minutes had already gone by.
