Everything else in the movie was just over the top for me. I sit back and open the book. With the book in hand and some music playing in the background I was soon transported into my own world. I don't know why, but as soon as I picked up a book to start reading, the whole world around me can go up in flames and I would not even realize it. This is why my mom banned me from reading at home.

The books I bought last time had been arranged by Maria and I began to check them out. It took my attention for the first one or two hours but after that, I got insanely bored. Books couldn’t do it for me anymore so I decided to see a movie instead. I got popcorn made for me and I sat in front of the TV as I watched the latest movie in town. I had read reviews about it being funny and full of romance. Well, it was but I couldn’t get immersed in it no matter how hard I tried. I should have known I wasn’t the kind of person to do well without other people. All my life, I have had people around. I wouldn’t change all of a sudden.

My mind needs to just clear out for a moment so I can just relax. A few minutes later Ashlynn comes back with a large bowl of popcorn and two bottles of water. She smiles at me before she gets herself settled in my bed, setting the large bowl on her lap. She grabs the remote and presses play on the movie, which was Pride and Prejudice. I read the book back in high school but I don't remember it at all. "Do you like this movie?" I ask her. "I love the book, it's one of my favorites. I have never seen the movie though," she tells me. "I didn't even know there was a movie until earlier today actually."

I gushed, my voice sparkling with enthusiasm. "I've only watched the movies," Jason admitted, a touch of intrigue in his tone. "Well, you're in for a treat. The books add so much depth and detail to the story and In a way they're so much better than the movies. You should definitely give them a try," I suggested, a smile playing on my lips. "I'll take your word for it, princess," Jason said, his voice filled with warmth. With eager anticipation, we settled back on the couch, the movie beginning to play. The familiar theme music filled the room, and soon we were both transported to the enchanting world of Harry Potter.

I replied. "How? You should prefer to watch a movie than read a book." "No!" She snatched the book from my hands and tossed it on the floor causing me to glare at her. "You have to watch movies and I'm sure you'll enjoy it more than a book." I picked up the book from the floor, shaking my head. "Some people just prefer reading to watching movies." "Oh, really?" she said, a hint of sarcasm in her voice. "People like who?"

A ‘book versus movie’ debate broke out. I looked over at Jenny sitting quietly while the rest of her group chatted away, and a thought popped into my head. Who would die first, me or her? I turned my attention back to my group as they discussed the finer points of Peeta versus Gale, and the answer to my morbid question stared me in the face. I got to my feet and said, “Bathroom,” by way of explanation to the inquiring faces looking up at me. “The thing about The Hunger Games, though, still a better love story than Twilight, right?” I dropped that literary hand grenade and walked away.

He return's my smile. Mirabelle leans into my ear, “Yea, nice.” she whispers. “Stop it.” I laugh. The movie was amazing, a romantic movie. Mirabelle's crying began half way through the movie until the end of it. I didn't cry as much as her because I've read the novel version of the movie and the ending wasn't as written in the book.

Being in a bookstore increased those chances a bit. “You know,” the young man said, “I read your first book, Out of the Shadows, Into the Dark.” “Well, thank you.” “Don’t thank me yet. I didn’t say whether I liked it or not.” This surprised a laugh out of Brad. “Touché.” “I’m just messing with you,” the man said, wearing an infectious grin. “I thought it was a great book, creepy and atmospheric. The movie adaptation, on the other hand . . . that was a real stinker.”

Liam said. "You guys have watched the first movie? Do you think it's better than the books?" Diana queried. "I've read the books.. And watched the first movie. I don't think it's necessarily better than the movie, or vice versa." Kate puckered her lips. "Me too. Maybe for other movies, they would get disappointed that the movie didn't give justice to the book, or that the movie just made a crappy book better." Miriam stated. "Right..right.. Like I said, as expected of Griffin Entertainment. They can make what you imagined from reading the book come true on screen." Liam aptly said.
