"THANK you and have a nice day!" I smiled at the two high schoolers as I handed them the bag of comics they'd purchased in the bookstore. It was already my third day at work. Edward's Bookshop was a five-year-old bookstore located at Conrad Blvd. Aside from different types of books, the bookstore also sells comics, magazines, stationers, CDs, souvenirs, and collection items. Today, I was assigned behind the cash register. "Those teens looked smitten by you."

So even though Andrea seemed to be talking for much longer about her boss, reminding him hat Edward was the president of the Larson's group and he was just the CEO of the real estate subsidiary, he couldn't bring himself to continue on the hate train. He had in fact found out that he never really hated edwards, rather, he found himself just really envious of him. Because if he had truly hated him, he wouldn't have read the books published by Edward. Edward had published a few business books which had turned to bestsellers over time because of how much Wisdom he had packed in the books and because Edward knew what and what not to say and also how to make the dumbest of people become business

Sniffing carefully to make sure he is not being followed, he pushes the door open. Behind the door is a large room with thousands of shelves lined in straight lines. Each shelf has over hundreds of books which are thick with dust and cobwebs. A strong scent of sewage and fungi is in the air but Eduard is not bothered by it. He holds the lamp higher and walks ahead. Mice scurry off as he approaches a shelf in the farthest corner. Scanning through the dusty shelves, he finally finds a thick leather bound book. He takes it out and dusts it well.

“You could’ve just called.” “Then it wouldn’t be a surprise.” His tone was teasing, gentle — the kind of charm that didn’t need to be loud to be felt. He sat across from me while I began looking through the books. Each one was carefully wrapped in old leather, filled with his mother’s notes in neat handwriting. The smell of old paper carried a strange comfort. “These were my mother’s journals,” Edward said quietly. “She was a psychologist too. Brilliant, stubborn, and endlessly curious. I thought they might help with your thesis.”

I have searched every corner, including hospitals, churches, law firms, and even as far as searching at Edward company. Since Edward only showed me just one of his companies….. I had one option. On getting to his company….. things were just shitty. Edward isn't there, and his entire workers seem to disappear into tiny air. None of them were at the company and the company has another different brand entirely. I mean Edward is just so good with whatever he does. How can he possibly organize all his workers to stop the company from the fact that the company now deals in wine surprises me?

"What is it?" Eden suddenly got up from her seat, then walked towards the brown cardboard that Eden had arranged in the corner of the room. There was something Eden found today, and she just remembered that she intended to ask Aciel after the man came home from work. "I found this." Eden pointed at a large book with a plain dark brown cover that looked a little dusty in some places. At first glance, Aciel was confused by the book that Eden had found, but then he remembered it and asked Eden to bring the book to him.

I walked over to the children's books area, I was thankful no one was around as I sat down in a beanbag after grabbing a few books to read. "Ella, stop slouching around and get to work" my manager yells at me, there was no one in the shop while I was sitting around here. I looked up to see a woman standing next to the register, I huffed angrily and put the book away before walking over to the nice looking lady. "Hi ma'am, how may I help you?" I ask the woman, she was only about five feet tall, with brown long hair and brown eyes. "Hello, I'm here for the new werewolf story" she says looking at me, I tried my best to hide under my own overgrown bangs.

The books cover seemed to have been made from wood and at the top of the cover was crafted an insignia that Edward knew too well. It was their houses symbol. Edward opened the book and different insects ran out of the open pages and unto his hands. He dropped the book on his saddle and tried sweeping the insects off his body while his uncle laughed on. "It's not funny, Uncle Baton," Edward said with a frown as he flicked the last insect, one that he assumed was some kind of ant, from his hand. "I'm sorry," Baton apologized, still chuckling hard. "It's just the instant look of fear on your face when they crawled up--"

she insisted. “That’s not how bookstores work,” Alex replied. “It is now.” Edith watched them, amused. “Young people,” she murmured. “Always rewriting the rules.” *** By late afternoon, the bookstore had transformed. Everything was in place. Neat. Warm. Inviting. Alex stepped back once more, taking it all in. “This… feels right,” he said. Amara nodded, standing beside him. “It does.” There was a brief silence between them. Not awkward.
