The Catcher In The Rye First Chapter Novels & Stories

⚠️ **Trigger Warning: This chapter contains graphic violence, torture, and dark themes. Reader discretion is advised.** The first thing I felt was fear. I didn’t know where I was. It smelled like gasoline and rotten corpse. I shouldn’t have left Alex’s side. I should have stayed in the hall, but he was angry with me and my heart couldn’t take it. It was my first time being somewhere I didn’t know of. I was scared. Who kidnapped me? What do they even want?

I didn’t even try to fight much before I opened it. The first few pages were notes. Each had different underlined headings like training schedules, ideas for improving pack defenses. I kept scrolling, breezing over the words until I reached a page that didn’t have a heading like the rest. It just started with one sentence that stopped me from breathing. ‘Her name is Mia.’ At that point, I knew I should stop. But I couldn't. Not even a hurricane would have pulled me from that book.

As You Wish Our first chapter in RYDER'S POV!!! Ryder I tried to open my eyes, but they were not cooperating, instead preferring to stay comfortably closed. But as I became more aware, I realized I wasn't comfortable, not really. My arms and legs were stiff and decidedly uncomfortable. My head also felt stiff. What the hell happened to me? I'd had hangovers before but this didn't feel the same. Something was wrong, off somehow.

I let go of the huge book that I have been clutching to my chest. Unfortunately to my dismay , every one in the hallways look at me. My first day at school and I'm on the cold hard floor. Everyone's eyes is on me waiting for me to do something . I'm sure no one would want to defend me from knox. He already looks menacing and scary. "Yeah that's right! You belong to the floor. My little pig! "he grins ear to ear with fire in his eyes. "Leave her alone know !" Another strange deep voice jumps in.

I began to cough out but I clamped a hand around my mouth to muffle the sounds that escaped my mouth with the tears that stunged my eyes. I searched through the box as I brought out a book that had MAX written on it with bold letters. I dusted it so I could read through the pages. Just when I flipped open the first page, I gasped in shock when I realized it was HIS DIARY

Inside the cover, her initials were faintly composed in pencil, hardly noticeable however unmistakably hers. A bookmark poked out from a random chapter. He flipped to the page. A tiny sticky note stuck between the margins read: “This chapter made me cry the first time. You’ll probably pretend it didn’t.” He smiled and shook his head. For the next hour, he checked out-- not out of monotony, however due to the fact that it felt like connection. Every page carried her voice, her choices, her quiet way of reaching out. He highlighted a line that stated, "The world breaks everyone, and later, many are stronger at the broken locations.".
