After a few more picks of boring history books, I finally found one that caught my eyes, “A CHOSEN TALE,” it resembled your old regular books but something about it was different, i couldn't tell what it was. I sat on the ground with my back pressed against the shelf and turned the first page open, “The history of the chosen one,” I whispered. Quite cryptic if you asked me.

The second which I found most intriguing is that his mate was not his fated mate, but a chosen one. I asked him to explain how a chosen mate worked in place of a fated mate. He said that it usually occurred when both had not found their fated mate but had found love without the bond. But the important part in making it work was that they would have to agree to reject their fated mate if they ever found them. Neither of them ever had, so it had not been an issue for them but they had made that promise when they chose their love without the bond.

I was furious. I walked through the corridors of the packhouse, my mind racing with all the reasons why I didn't want a mate. I had seen how taking a chosen mate had ruined a friend's life. He had fallen in love with his chosen mate and had a pup. His life was good until his fated mate came along. Of course, he had fallen straight away for his fated mate from the Goddess and had left his chosen mate behind. There weren’t many of them, but they filled my chest with a hope that made me want to grin wildly.
