I became a little curious to know the kind of message it is, I opened the message and I felt a sharp nail pierce me deep in my chest as I saw the images she sent to me. “Tristan?” I asked myself feeling very hearbroken. I should'nt have had high hopes thinking someone like Tristan would be mine one day. “It's a contract marriage.” I kept repeating to myself as I was struggling not to cry, I don't know why I was becoming emotional because it seemed like I didn't have the right to feel such way. I couldn't find it in anymore, I let out the tears and started crying. I cried so much that I couldn't sleep all night.

Finally after so much persuasion, they left. I thought about the ginseng soup I had in mind. This could help in his blood circulation and sooth his nerves. But I had no idea if he would take the soup alone. Anyways I got busy with cooking. “See who is in the kitchen. Just because she had a way to sooth the king's wolf she already feels like a Queen.” The Concubine who had left in tears earlier walked into the kitchen with two other concubines behind her. I had no idea what their names were and I didn't care.

"I already have a Luna according to his wish. Can any of you guess who she is?" "How are we supposed to guess when we don't see you with any female?" someone from the crowd remarked, and a smile curved my lips. Inhaling, I questioned, "Are my concubines a joke to all of you?" The building filled with murmurs once again. Meanwhile, I cast a glance back and spotted the three ladies behind me: Isabella, my concubine number 99; Amy, my concubine number 98; and then there was Francesca, concubine number 100. They all wore a shocked expression, anticipating me to reveal the news.

Flashback: “One of the girls, the concubines, who arrived the other day has caused a fuss. Her name is to be said Liana. She fought against eating, against the girls eating or even looking at us, and the number of times that we had to tie her down for her to calm down are countless,” Marcus, one of the men who were in the car to deliver the concubines said. “I see,” I said.

She knew this was a terrible thing and thinking about it was enough to get her feeling anxious. “Is that why you have no power to control the lord when he chooses to have his concubines?” Hilda sneakily spoke into her ear and that got Myan to stop walking. “What do you mean by concubines?” She furrowed her eyebrows, securing her grip on the gown she still had in her hand. “You didn’t know?” Hilda feigned surprise, raising one eyebrow at her. “The lord’s concubines are returning today, hence the reason behind his lack of hunt today.”

A lowly life like me? Ronan’s voice explaied further. “Every new concubine receives one on her wedding day.” The word concubine stung me. My lips trembled, and I lowered my head to hide the shame crawling up in my face. I shouldn’t have hoped for where I didn't belong. “Please, choose whatever you need, madam,” Ronan said. I forced a smile on my face. “I don’t even know where to start,” I admitted quietly. “I’d appreciate your help.”

After all, the noble status of the Connor family was higher than that of the Wales family. "Please," answered Vennina while asking the waiter to bring an extra chair. Dhevita immediately joined. They talk about the joys and sorrows of being a married man's concubine - something Vennina had never experienced before. All this time, Vennina was just Leon's concubine. Unmarried girl but needed her services in bed.

Chris nursed the bottle like it was a beer and not a two-thousand-dollar bottle of scotch. “I was shocked and didn’t understand how to process it. I mean, not only did I find those Aconite pills, but the photos of Marina…” “Wait wait wait,” he sat up straight, “You found photos of Marina? Like, the same Marina who was pining after your husband? The same Marina whom you took care of for years before she woke from a coma?” “The one and only,” I muttered, allowing myself to flop backwards roughly. My legs crossed at my ankles and I placed my hands behind my head as I stared up at the fading light in the sky. “Why would he have those?”
