The manor loomed above—Gothic, ancient, windows glowing red from within like embers in the dark. Candles lined the winding drive, their flames impossibly steady despite the wind. Shadowy figures in black robes stood at the entrance, faces hidden by deep hoods.

Unknowingly, my nerve cells started to respond to the circumstances. The two of them didn't seem to notice that there was someone else besides them as they were lost in their world. They appeared to be close friends and both of them were radiating in the room. One was blessed with light brown pastel coloured eyes which seemed as sweet as sugar and the other one was blessed with black coloured eyes which seemed as deep as the sea.

Kira I turned the key. The engine clicked twice. I sighed as I let the ignition turn back. With another twist, I tapped the pedal. The engine clicked then clicked some more. I looked out the window to the darkened grocery store. I hated closing. It was the worst. The lights above from the "Discount Grocer", which was missing the last four and the first word completely, cast a yellow glow through my windshield.
