The Disdained Luna Who Rose Alone Novels & Stories

When it was my turn to speak, I stood tall, voice steady but filled with passion. “We are here to change the narrative — to protect every woman Luna represents. We cannot let fear dictate our path.” Some nodded, but others exchanged skeptical looks. Then Vanessa appeared — not in person, but through a video feed that flickered on the screen. Her smile was sharp, almost venomous. “Luna is a sinking ship,” she said smoothly. “And I’m here to make sure it goes down.” A collective gasp filled the room. But Justin didn’t flinch.

She had already set her course, and nothing would deter her now. Nova stood near the front of the room, her back straight and her head held high. She was the picture of grace and poise, her long black gown flowing around her like a second skin. Her eyes were trained on Luca as she smiled to herself, certain of what was about to come. She had been Luca’s closest ally for years, his confidante, his partner in every way that mattered. It was her time. She would finally take her rightful place by his side as Luna, and nothing would stand in her way, she also knew that Luca would chose her because she has the best family who is in to support Luca so he could get the throne.

Behind me, celebration continues, thousands of Moonborn and allied wolves marking twenty years of hard-won progress, genuine hope built from genuine trust across generations that once seemed destined only for persecution and fear. But standing here, alone in the darkness, watching where that golden-eyed stranger disappeared into shadows I once thought I understood completely, I understand something new is beginning, even as everything we spent decades building finally reaches this moment of genuine, celebrated completion. The Luna's return from exile is complete. But the world, I understand now, watching stars shine down on a supernatural community my daughter just connected more completely

I would become Luna. Damon’s Luna. I had waited years for this. I had held on to that hope even when the whispers started, even when the looks followed me wherever I went. The pack house was already awake. Movement filled the halls, voices rising, footsteps passing quickly. Decorations were being placed, flowers carried from one end of the building to the other. Still, the whispers found me. “They say she’s cursed.” “She’s not fit.” I heard them. I walked past them. Damon chose me.

The fire whispered, a lullaby of rage and power, promising that this was only the beginning. Serena stepped back, blending into the shadow of the nearest oak. Damien’s figure loomed on the horizon, a distant, unknowable force—her future tether, a reminder of what had been stolen, a challenge to reclaim. Lucia, rattled, stumbled to regain composure, but Serena did not give her the satisfaction of immediate recognition. She was the unseen storm now, the living ember that refused to die.

She watched as her children were enveloped in acceptance, as her mates stood revealed and yet still adored, as the impossible truth became the foundation of unity instead of division. The wolves raised their voices together, a thunderous chant that echoed into the heavens. “LUNA! LUNA! LUNA!” And in that moment, as the brothers stood unmasked, as their children were acknowledged, and as every wolf bent in devotion, Lisa knew—this was not just the coronation of a Luna. It was the beginning of a new era.

And in the center, a girl with a cracked crown and a man with king’s eyes. Elder Jonah stood. His hands shook, but his voice was steady. “This is blasphemy. The goddess never crowned you. You stole that power.” Luna stood. Damian rose with her, still weak but refusing to let her face them alone. “I didn’t steal anything,” she said. “You buried it. You killed my mother to bury it. You made Damian reject me to bury it. But blood doesn’t stay buried.” She lifted her hand. The cracked crown above her head spun, then reformed. Whole again. Brighter.

I ordered through bared teeth with my heavy gaze lingering on her. “You should show some respect; soon she will be your new Luna," he commanded, his words dripping with disdain as a wave of embarrassment ran through me. “Her? But what about me?" I asked. “Jessica is a strong gamma, and you can't compete with that," he snorted, his lips curling into a grin. “We are fated mates chosen by the moon goddess," I blurted out, and he let out a bitter laugh. “Enough about the moon goddess! For her to think I will settle for a weak, wolf-less mate like you is beyond me," he declared sharply, cutting me short.

"On the second day, a woman came to the east wing. She was not supposed to be there either. She had slipped away from the formal luncheon. She sat with us for an hour and she taught us a game with river stones and she laughed very easily, the way some people do who are genuinely happy in their bones." He stopped. I waited. "She was the most powerful Luna I ever encountered," he said. "Not because of her wolf or her rank. Because of the quality of her attention. When she looked at you, you believed you were the only thing in the room worth looking at. I have met three sitting monarchs and a dozen dominant Alphas since then and none of them have had it." His eyes did not leave my face. "Her na

"I, Sera Ashford, accept your rejection, Alpha Lupus." More gasps erupted from the crowd. Shame and fury burned inside me, but I kept my posture perfect. The moment the words left my mouth, the bond snapped completely. Lupus's expression flickered for just a fraction of a second. Something like a flash of regret passed through his eyes, but it vanished before anyone else could see it. "Good," he said flatly. "Now get out. Angela and I will be announced as Alpha and Luna at the next full moon. Do not embarrass yourself by showing up."
