The Devil's Claim... His little mouse.

The Devil's Claim... His little mouse.

Panic tightened its grip, and her body began to surrender to fatigue. Her eyes fluttered closed, her limbs falling slack as she drifted downward. Blonde hair fanned out like golden seaweed in the murky water, and her body sank closer to the dark secrets hidden below—a bed of decay, where lifeless forms lay scattered. The greenish tint of the underwater graveyard concealed countless sins of the Cross empire, secrets buried in silence. Then, a splash. Dallion Cross dived into the icy water, cutting through it with precision and urgency. His sharp eyes found her descending form, limp and fading. Powerful strokes brought him to her side, his arm looping around her waist as he propelled them both

MINE TO CLAIM

MINE TO CLAIM

“The poison Theodore used, it was already affecting my body when we fell. My vision was blurring, my muscles weren’t responding properly. The impact with the water felt like hitting concrete.” Ava squeezed his free hand, feeling the tremor that ran through his fingers as he spoke. “I went under immediately. The current was stronger than anything I had experienced, and with the poison in my system, I couldn’t fight it effectively. I remember thinking about you, about the child I might never meet.” “How did you survive the drowning?” Owen asked quietly. “I didn’t, technically. My lungs filled with water, and I lost consciousness completely. The next thing I remember is waking up on a beach thi

How To Tame The Savage Alpha

How To Tame The Savage Alpha

Liam was right; I was foolish to believe I could survive this place on my own. I choked on the ice-cold water, my chest burnt from the lack of oxygen, and my brain fuzzy. I couldn’t see anything, couldn’t hear anything. No one really talks about how scary drowning was. It was like watching yourself die but unable to do a thing about it. The worst part, though, was the quiet and loneliness. Then someone grabbed me. I held onto my rescuer for dear life as I was pulled out, breaking through the surface and violently coughing up the water I’d swallowed.

DOOMSDAY FORTRESS: THE OFFICER'S COLD BRIDE

DOOMSDAY FORTRESS: THE OFFICER'S COLD BRIDE

Coast Guard zodiacs, police pontoons, and makeshift wooden rafts negotiated the narrow water channels between the upper tiers of flooded office buildings. From this height, I could see them clearly through Zaid’s mounted tactical scope. Rescuers in high-visibility orange vests were pulling shivering figures through broken second-story windows citizens who had waited too long, who had trusted the lies on the news until the water was lapping at their mattresses. Among those drowning streets, somewhere beneath the grey mist, were Eleanor and James. I took a slow, deliberate sip of the bitter coffee, letting the heat settle in my throat. I didn't feel a surge of vindictive joy, nor did I feel th

Ten Nights With The Call Boy

Ten Nights With The Call Boy

He was wrong. One step. The sand gave way. The current grabbed his legs and pulled. Hard. Like invisible hands dragging him under. He tried to scream but saltwater filled his mouth. His arms flailed. He kicked, but his shoes were heavy. His lungs burned. No one saw him. The bodyguards were still at the tents. His father was giving a speech. His mother was shaking hands with politicians. He was drowning. Alone. Black spots danced in his vision. The world went quiet except for the roar in his ears. “This is it,” he thought, stupidly calm for a thirteen-year-old. *I’m going to die and they won’t even know where to look.*

Elaine of Artharia

Elaine of Artharia

The rain fell from the sky for so long that Elaine was beginning to believe the world was made of water. From the curls clinging to the skin of her neck, all the way down to her sopping boots, water coated her clothing, her skin. It felt as though every breath was a drink of ice water, coating her lungs until Elaine found herself coughing. Elaine was drowning on land; the only comfort the rain brought was the chill, numb, and constant distraction from the pain in her heart.

The Disabled Billionaire Is Obsessed With Me

The Disabled Billionaire Is Obsessed With Me

It only takes and takes until there’s nothing left. The cold water surrounded me, pulling me under. I couldn’t move, and my consciousness was fading. I tried to look for Daisy, but the darkness swallowed everything. She could have fallen anywhere. And from what I saw, I doubted she survived, the car had hit her hard. Ah… so this was how I was going to die. Drowning alone, with no one by my side. I didn’t pity myself. But I pitied the ones who actually cared about me. Theodore, his family….. Xander.

You Are Mine, Little Sister

You Are Mine, Little Sister

His tattooed hand brushed across my cheek and gripped my hair. "Void, please... Please." But my pleas were ignored as he inched my face toward the surface of the water. I was so close I could feel the cold breathing against my skin. I let out a sound that was neither word nor scream. Just raw, soul-deep terror. Fuck. "Did you know, Rali," his voice rasped close to my ear, "most people don't actually die from drowning. Not at first."

Minx Chique
A very hard read at first, but when you keep reading, the storyline and characters draw you in. If you like dark storyline like this one, give another title a read, 'Marked, Broken, and Carrying His Heir' (no, I'm not the author). The story is twisted and you will also love the strong female lead.

It was the best book ever… I loved it until the part where she lost her memory…. Omg the stuff that happened to her after she got abducted, killed my soul completely and I haven’t been able to read any further. I’ve been too afraid that it will continue. I hope I can continue reading.

Stolen By The Heartless Mafia Lord

Stolen By The Heartless Mafia Lord

Unlike being drowned in open waters, this form of drowning was the harshest, in an open water one would have the option to hold their breath as long as they could until their lungs gave out, however, in this form of drowning, one would have no choice but to gurgle up the water from both their mouth and their nose since their heads would be forcefully thrown back and the water would fall directly on their face leaving one with no choice but to struggle and take it all in. Sebastian sat himself on a chair in the far end corner of the room, his eyes held no remorse as he watched Davina thrashing fiercely to save her life, however was still getting drowned while seated. He recalled how close it

Ok so I really have to say this was a great book. I thought it would turn out like some of the other books but you had me on my toes wondering who did what and I usually can figure out the outcome. Great Job

Is there Stockholm syndrome in the story????? If yes then I'm out. The most pathetic thing is that until and unless you grant 5 * thecomment will not show among the top ones. Good way to grab stars even if the story doesn't deserve even half a star...

Stealing the Heart of Mr. Steele

Stealing the Heart of Mr. Steele

I'm sorry that I won't get a chance to watch us grow old together. Drowning is excruciating. The saltwater filling your lungs burns as you cough, struggling to find air. Your large, gasping breaths are futile as you release the last of your oxygen into the fluid around you. Your mind starts to create hallucinations as you lose the last of your air. Like right now. I see Atlas' shining face. His whole body seems to glow with brilliance as he swims towards me. The angel of death taking on my husband's form is a kindness of my mind. If I am to die, let it be in his embrace.
