Avery's POV "Who is it? Who is the man you want me to get married to, Father?" I asked, pursing my lips, as I thought about what my father had just said. “Aiden Backwoods, CEO of Backwoods Steel Making Company, you've seen him several times during public events that we attend. It's a marriage of convenience and the deal is already signed,” I opened my mouth to say something, but he continued without letting me to, “The wedding date is already set, you would be getting married to him next weekend, but before that I already set a meeting for both of you and you'll be there, no complaints.”

“Avery Dalen. Newly bound reaper of the Seventh Division. You led the strike team into direct resonance with a corrupted entity, violated containment protocol, and exposed yourself to its influence.” Avery met his gaze, steady but tight-lipped. “It didn’t give me much of a choice.” Varyn’s eyes narrowed, the silver glow within them deepening. “Everything is a choice.” Kael’s voice broke the tension. “She acted under my orders.” The chamber rippled faintly at the interruption. A few of the other Council members turned their masked faces toward him. One — a woman with dark braids and eyes like burning mercury — spoke next.

His voice spoke as a challenge to anyone that dare disobey him. "I-" Rachel sputtered her face paling as Killian's words battered her. "You will be punished for your disrespect." Killian cut her off, his voice growing lower with each word. Something about her openly taunting me had him the angriest I've ever seen. "Gabriel, ensure she makes it home. And stays there." Killian snarled at his Beta, giving Rachel one last cold stare. "Now to deal with you." Killian turned away from the gathering crowd, speaking to me as he walked out of the canopy and towards a house.

No one expected this to happen. "Avery, you listen to me. I know that you are smart and strong. But I have to tell you this. We are being attacked by the Balthers Clan, honey. He brought all his high-ranking soldiers and wild bears to attack us. It seems that he really planned all of this. Now that I have explained what is happening find your brother in the forest. He is with the other children there. Do not come back until your brother tells you so. You listen to him. Okay? I love you, Avery, so so much." That moment hit me. As of now, I can't do anything to protect all the people that I love. Even with what was happening. All I could do was just look at them suffering.

They haven’t been used yet. Toni was my bodyguard after Eren dumped me and moving closer to his place was favourable for him. He was able to have Tamara by his side. Later Tamara gave birth to a boy, Troy. Within a few days I gave birth to Eren. It was an amazing idea to move here. Eren is surrounded by wonderful people as well as I’m. His gaze was fixed on Bastien Archer who was standing alone in front of us. Then second The enforcer looked at each other, "Is he the reported Rogue?" Jordan Shaw asked in a rather astonished voice.

Killian growled. He launched himself forward. He did not shift into his full wolf form, but his speed was animal. He ducked under the swing of the first axe, his massive fist driving straight into the enforcer's ribs. The iron-studded hide buckled under the blow, the force throwing the man into the snow. The second and third enforcers closed in, their axes coming down in a cross-pattern to take Killian's head. "Protect the King!" I commanded, my silver eyes flaring.

Time passed minute by minute, and the hope became more and more uncertain until a Hummer drove out from the courtyard, Avery rushed out without caring about anything and spread her arms in front of the carriage to protect it. In the car, Daniel stepped on the brakes urgently and was almost scared to the point of perspiring in a cold sweat. He raised his head and saw that the girl had her eyes closed. Her body was only half a meter away from the car. If he reacted any slower, he would crash into her. Daniel pushed the door and got off the car, with a hint of anger, "Are you sick of living?"
