Escaping the Alpha, Claimed in the End

Escaping the Alpha, Claimed in the End

By the end, there wasn’t much left for them to push. They left with polite nods. Lucas walked them out. Samantha and Mike went to compare notes. Kara promised to bring tea to my room. I drifted back to the library, telling myself I was only putting one book away. Sunlight poured over the long table. The room smelled like leather and dust. My fingers slid along the glass case and caught on a shallow groove in the carved wood. I pressed. A hidden panel clicked and a thin drawer eased open. Inside lay a narrow roll of parchment tied with faded blue cloth.

Then stands up and we head out of the room and to the library. “Dean, Gunner. Glad you could join us. They’re searching for something in the shelves.” Jordan and Cole greet us when we walk in. I look passed him to the shelves, but I don’t see them. Suddenly, Grace comes running out of the bookshelves, her phone in her hand and eyes wide, Issac right behind her. “Dean, Gunner. Good.” She breathes as she walks closer to us. “He escaped.” She tells us and I’m immediately on guard.

Escaping The World: Lost in Book (book 1)

Escaping The World: Lost in Book (book 1)

I climb and jump to get books off of shelves and Aidan has to catch me a couple of times when I fell. We eventually sit at one of the nooks in the grande room. It's small and cozy with 2 big chairs and a large desk between them. We spread books out on the desk and floor around us. "Anything catch your eye?" I ask him as he stares down at the collection. He looks up at me bewildered. "How do you choose? How do you know which ones will make you escape, make you feel?" He asks with something in his voice I can't quite identify.

The Search for the Crystal Key (Book 2 of Dark Escape Duo)

The Search for the Crystal Key (Book 2 of Dark Escape Duo)

Some she recognized as common herbs for even more common remedies, but others were completely foreign to her. Her eyes slowly combed the contents of the jars as she moved from shelf to shelf. When she came upon a jar that looked particularly interesting, she’d remove it carefully from its designated spot and inspected it closely. It was when she removed a jar of thick green, gooey looking liquid that she spotted the dust laden book hidden behind it. Setting the jar down on the table while being careful not to crack it or spill any of the foreign contents she exercised equal care pulling the book from its hiding spot. Spotting a rickety looking, roughhewn chair in the far corner of the room s

Claiming My Alpha

Claiming My Alpha

I thought that I broke it, but instead, the wall next to it moved. ‘A secret room,’ Leia said. ‘Should we enter?’ I asked her. ‘I know you want to,’ she replied teasingly. ‘I’m serious,’ I replied. ‘And so am I,’ Leia replied, ‘I know you wanted to,” I took my phone out and turn on the flashlight as I enter the room. Now I know why people who are curious always get themselves killed in movies. Curiosity was something that is so hard to resist. The opened door leads to a small room that has books inside. Checked on one of the shelves, and found that the book does not have a title on it. I took one book and opened it.

As the story evolves, you can tell how much dedication the author has spent developing each one the main characters as they grow stronger together throughout the book (instead of just focusing Drake and Athena). You can feel the emotions no matter how dumb, silly or painful it is. Excellent Job!!

Was a really good read. Just a little disappointed in how it ended. The whole books geared you up for this type of war to happen but at the end it just leaves you hanging. Maybe the sequel will answer all of the questions that were brought up in the first one..

After the Escape

After the Escape

My mother dragged me out of my biological father's brutality, and I thought we had finally escaped. Then she married the Don of the Falcone family. The woman who once fought to protect me completely changed. To secure my stepfather's approval and coddle his beloved Sofia, she stood by and let them turn me into a servant in the house I was supposed to call home. Every time I pushed back, they pushed harder. Every time I begged to be seen, I was met with contempt. My biological father's fists left scars on my body. This family's marks went deeper—into my bones. So I stopped. If they never wanted me there, I would stop breaking myself for their hollow approval. I would take my own life back. In

Loving Luna

Loving Luna

"That is always how it starts." Luna moved closer despite herself. Beyond the opening was a narrow chamber. Unlike everything else they had discovered, it contained almost nothing. A stone table stood in the center. Something rested on it. A book. Luna sighed. Darius looked at her. "Absolutely not." "It's a book." "The last book we opened released thousands of forgotten people and several memory-eating creatures." "That was technically the building." "I'm not interested in technical distinctions."

The Hockey Star's Remorse

The Hockey Star's Remorse

The receptionist led us to the entrance of the horror-themed room, and my nerves jittered with apprehension. The room's decor exuded an eerie ambiance. Dim lighting cast shadows against the peeling wallpaper, while eerie sound effects filled the air. The challenge ahead seemed daunting, but there was an underlying excitement among us. "You have sixty minutes to escape," the game master explained, locking us in. "Clues are hidden throughout the room. Work together, and remember, communication is key." As the countdown began, adrenaline surged through my veins. The room was riddled with cryptic messages, puzzles, and hidden compartments. We huddled together, scanning every nook and cranny for

He Called Me Weak, Now I Hold His Fate

He Called Me Weak, Now I Hold His Fate

I felt Elara’s whole body trembling under my fingers when she asked the question I already knew the answer to. “Escape,” I said, flat and sharp. No plan-speech, no false bravado only the one thing that would keep us alive. I gripped her hands and pulled her toward the far wall. Moonlight slanted through the curtained window, painting the room in pale silver. The sash stuck at first; years of dust and damp had swollen the wood. I set my shoulder to it and eased it open with a soft curse. Cold night air breathed into the small room, smelling of smoke and ale and freedom.
