The Everything Store Novels & Stories

It was nothing compared to this—each store held items worth tens or hundreds of thousands! She cleaned out every shop she passed and stored everything in her inventory.

Mr Frederick wondered how on earth the store and clothe designer was his concern. Mrs Vivian came closer, she collected the newspaper and tossed it aside. “Watch this.” She placed her iPad on his palm. “You will be amazed.” She clicked on the screen and played a video. Mr Frederick saw a big building with a designer brand of RRC engraved at the entrance. It was beautiful! The whole place was crowded and there was barely any space for people to walk around. “Whoever owns this business must be rich because the whole items used were of high standard.” Mr Frederick commented.

Today was the big prep day. I padded into the bathroom and brushed my teeth, then stared at my reflection. I didn’t look like a billionaire’s fiancée. I looked like Lexi Torres: a girl from East New York, a waitress, a sister, a worrier. A woman pretending to belong in a castle made of glass.

Waiting on your speech. I replied with a simple okay. … Half an hour later, I stood at the press conference inside the headquarters of Leighton Corp. as cameras flashed nonstop. My dad stood beside me and spoke into the microphone. "Today, in my daughter Mallory's name, we officially establish the Anti-Campus Bullying Special Fund. This foundation will provide legal assistance and psychological support to every student who suffers bullying but has no strength to resist. We will not accept donations of any kind. Leighton Corp. will fund everything."

Now, tell me everything you know about Richard Blancham and a man named Edmund. I slipped my phone into my pocket and went back inside. We still had work to do.

Ingredients for brunch. I was fine with being with Scarlet, but she was acting like we were only two in the world. Even the grocery store had no people. That was strange. “Scarlet. Where are the people?” “Oh, it's a help yourself store. There are security cameras everywhere. You buy what you need, and pay. If you don't show the receipt at the door, it won't let you out.” She explained, and walked further. Were there stores like that? With such advanced technology? I had totally no idea about it.

He caught Brenda in the breakroom a few hours later, in the middle of her third energy drink and a bag of pretzels. “You got a second?” he asked. Brenda arched a brow. “Judging by your face, I’d say this is a ‘brace yourself’ kind of conversation.” Marcus dropped into the chair across from her. “I think Eli is the CEO of BuyMore.” Brenda choked on a pretzel. “What?!” He quickly recounted the box, the label, the return address, the tracking data. He even showed her the QR scan and the system screen. Brenda’s expression shifted from shock to fascination.

But somehow, she couldn't take her eyes off it. Rosabella looked up quietly, and this shop was called "Sales of Time." It's a weird name inside of her. Everyone knows that time is priceless and never recovered after it's over. And this store dares to name it part-time. Sell something so priceless, is that okay? So the person who bought it, what's the price?

I figured I would get to the store about 6:30 and that would only give me 15 minutes or so to quickly shop and get out of there. Although I was nervous driving to the store, as I parked in front of the seedy looking building and walked toward the door, I felt OK. I mean, lots of people shop at these stores and lots of people enjoy anal sex. Why should I be embarrassed to buy a plug? The sign above the door showed the name of the store Temptations and under the name it said video booths, toys, clothes and magazines. I guess they had not updated the sign since BluRays came out. I took a deep breath and opened the door. The store was surprisingly bright. I saw three or four men by the magazine

Before I knew it, I'd run to the nursing home where my mom lived. After so many years apart, I was finally about to see her. And suddenly, I was scared. Selene had promised she'd take good care of my mom. Now Selene and I were strangers. My mother was the only family I had left. But the moment I reached the front desk and gave my mother's name, the receptionist looked at me strangely. Her cherry-red lips parted. "Helen Mercer jumped off the building six months ago," she said. "You didn't know?"
