Family Ties

Family Ties

and when I finished, I wiped my eyes, kissed her goodbye, and stood to find Portia waiting for me on a bench not far off. Over the years, Portia and the Shaws had become as big a part of my family as I had theirs. I'd never known my dad, or even his name, and Ernie stepped in to fill that role from the day I met him. Every time my mom had to go through chemo, I'd gone back into foster care, and I had gotten a family that defied all odds. They weren't the couple that people read about who appeared to be wonderful on the outside, only to find out they abused the system for money and neglected the kids in their custody. Ernie and Hensley Shaw just wanted children and hadn't been able to have an

Keeping to the Family

Keeping to the Family

The two family’s had always been close. Bailey Everleigh never thought too much about it until the summer that everything changed. She had been raised with her own family, and theirs was always nearby as well. They did almost everything together. She had always thought it was because both were large families. They understood the way things were done in them that people who didn’t have eight-plus kids could never.

The night that ruined my marriage

The night that ruined my marriage

"Because I love her. And I love her father. And I'm not going to abandon them when things get hard. That's not what family does." "Are you family? Legally, you're not related. You've only known Ivy a few months." "Family isn't just biology or legal documents. Family is who shows up. Who stays. Who fights for each other." I look at Lucien. "We're family." Mrs. Chen nods slowly. "That's what Ivy says too. She told the class last week that she has a daddy, an Uncle Elias, and a Miss Sera. That you're her people. Her words."

Namira Zerouali
good story by the way but you take way too long to develop and upload chapters its getting a little boring after nearly 300 chapters we still dont know if he loves her or not and why he's protecting her and from who too ,and of course one chapters per day is very diabolical and irritating thank you

I love the book…and the storyline. It’s almost rage baiting readers how painstakingly slow you are with uploading chapters. Moreover, you only upload 1 per day. I don’t know if this is deliberate but you discourage readers from reading your other books. We still need to know WHY Axel cares about her

Rayna ordered. "Look Henry. First of all, this is a family, not a group. And we're family because we love and support each other in our lives. We care about each other, and want to know about what each of us go through and share in it. You may not know how real families work, so let me clue you in." Rayna replied.

Frequently Asked Questions

The first thing that struck me about 'The Family' was how it weaves together the mundane and the extraordinary. At its core, it’s a story about a seemingly ordinary family whose lives are upended by secrets lurking beneath the surface. The patriarch, a respected businessman, hides a double life, while the matriarch grapples with her own suppressed ambitions. Their children, each with distinct personalities, navigate adolescence under the weight of their parents’ choices. What makes it compelling isn’t just the drama—it’s the way the author peels back layers of familial love and resentment, showing how loyalty can both bind and suffocate.

The novel’s middle section shifts focus to a long-buried family secret that resurfaces during a reunion. The pacing here is masterful, with tension building through small, everyday interactions that suddenly take on darker meanings. I found myself highlighting passages about the eldest daughter’s internal monologue—her struggle to reconcile the father she idolized with the man she discovers. The ending doesn’t tie everything neatly; instead, it leaves room for interpretation, much like real family dynamics. It’s the kind of book that lingers, making you reflect on your own relationships long after the last page.
