The First Wizarding War Novels & Stories

Gunther queries with so much eagerness that he looks adorable. "The witches, I mean every witch, wizard or warlock, knows both good and dark magic. However, in ancient times, what we called dark magic is not what we see today. Our magic would only become dark in times of war. Because we would use magic to kill our opponents. Only in war. We would create illusions or even raise the dead animals to attack. They would become invincible."

I asked again, breaking the silence, my voice barely above a whisper. I needed to know. Needed to understand what was happening. He’d mentioned something about a war, but I hadn’t asked for details last night. I was too caught up in…everything else. He paused, the washcloth hovering over my skin for a moment before he continued. “After you left, the witches made their move,” he said, his tone flat. “There’s talk of war. A real one this time. They’re not playing games anymore.” I frowned, my heart pounding a little harder. Witches? War? It didn’t make sense. “But…I don’t know anything about being a witch,” I admitted, my voice trembling slightly. “I don’t—"

This is because of the spell the wizards casted over the forest very many years ago . When the wizards first discovered that the first dimension was habitable by them ,they migrated here to settle ,the wolves of the first dimensions saw them as a treat, because of their magic ,and abilities to control the atmosphere and shoot fireballs, they were afraid that the wizards would one day drive them out of their lands ,so they came together in conspiracy to wipe them all out, before that day ever came to pass , the chief seer as of that time , for saw this plan of the doom that was coming for them and how the wolves had planed to eliminate them all ,in his wisdom he instructed his wizards to all

I asked, curiosity piqued. The witch doctor locked eyes with me, the weight of his words lingering in the air. “War.” In an instant, the room erupted into chaos. Questions fired from every corner like arrows: “How many wizards are involved?” “What exactly do they want?” “Where have they been hiding?” “Why attack now?” The clamor grew into a cacophony until my father, King Aldric, brought it to a halt with a sharp slap of his hand on the table. Silence enveloped the chamber, heavy and tense. My father’s expression was grave.

Even more so when she was drunk. There were people swarming the pub that stood in front of us. A man was shouting out orders to the workers. Some of the workers carried out chairs and tables, while others stormed in with sledgehammers. A few mages mingled around the entrance, one in particular peeking into the emptying pub while the others chatter amongst themselves. I was confused about what was happening over there. It isn’t normal for people around here to shut down their stores. “I’m sure they’ll be able to get more customers if they just-”

Aviari sent a bloom of fire in the sky to signal for everyone to silence and listen to him. I barely heard him as I watched how they responded to him. Everyone silenced. Deferring to what he directed as he announced an end to the war between mages and wolves. Rocking everyone in attendance. He made clear that if anyone declared war on the newly free mages or if any of them did on the wolves then they’d have him to deal with. I heard his voice from far away. Watched the way he was turning to speak to them all. This is what he was born for. I realized.

He took an unwavering step forward. “I’m not like them,” he whispered to ‘the heart. “I want to end this war. I don’t want blood for greed or power.” A ripple of memory surged into him, ancient, vast, incomprehensible. He saw the first Vrykolakas about to be torn from their human lives by death and returned by the heart's design. He saw wolves caged like dogs during the First War in the time of the gods. He saw magic— true, terrifying magic burn kingdoms into sand, buried completely in the annals of history without a chance to leave their mark and never to be heard about or spoken of.

Harlequin spoke and a black halo appeared in his head, hovering above was a glowing white cross. And spreading in the ground, all toward the Grand Arch Wizard was an alternating black and white tile, the chess board of the hero. And immediately his pieces assembled launching their first move to the enemy. “White moves first,” Harlequin proclaimed.

Aria stood at the front, her own crystals dim around her neck, her voice carrying the weight of knowledge passed down through generations. "The First War was not a war of territory," she began. "It was a war of existence against nonexistence. The light-creatures and the shadow-creatures were not gods or demons — they were forces, older than the world, locked in a conflict that had been raging since before time began. The wolves of the First Pack were caught between them. We were not the instigators of that war. We were its victims." She unrolled a map showing the ley lines, the weak points, the ancient wards. The students leaned forward, their eyes intent.

My gut clenched. The final ward flared, sputtered, then collapsed in a cascade of sparks. The net was broken. The fortress lay vulnerable. “Now!” I roared. Wolves surged forward, claws pounding the earth, war cries echoing under the moon. The air filled with the crackle of spells as witches hurled fire and ice alongside us. The ground shook with the force of a hundred bodies charging as one. The first line of guards met us at the gate. Steel clashed against fang, fire lit the sky.
