"I am going to find her, and I am going to wrap my hands around her neck, and I am going to squeeze until every lie she ever told chokes her." I grabbed the bottle of scotch and hurled it at the wall. It shattered, amber liquid spraying over the framed wedding photo of Monica and me. "I am going to kill that cunning, cheating, drug-addict bitch with my bare hands." David laughed. It wasn't a funny laugh. It wasn't mocking. It was the sound of a man realizing the game had changed. "Finally," David said, his voice dark with amusement. "The brother I remember finally woke up." "Where is the safe house?" I demanded.

I could ask him for more details later, after he’d had time to process everything. He said he needed time to think about all of this, and that was completely fair. It was a lot to expect him to accept—that something like this was even possible. “So, I really lost to David,” Alexander said again, taking another drink of his whiskey. “I’m disappointed in my alternate-universe self.” “I’m not sure about alternate universe,” I said, “but you shouldn’t be disappointed. Now we know that David had a whole team of powerful criminals behind him. If not for that, he wouldn’t have won.”

“I made the connections, crafted the image, smoothed every scandal until it gleamed like glass. I won’t throw it all away because Nico discovered madness late in life.” David leans back, unimpressed. “You’re not here for confession.” “No,” I admit. “I’m here to trade.” ********************************** He watches me with that predator stillness men like him cultivate. I know better than to fidget under it. I’ve faced senators, CEOs, priests in confessionals who liked to play wolf. David is different. He doesn’t want power. He wants blood. Good. That makes him useful. “I know where the bodies are buried,” I say softly. “Metaphorical and otherwise. The shell accounts, the bribes, the contract

And David knew, the real war had only just begun. The revelation about 'The Architect' detonated David's carefully constructed peace in Bali. The serene beauty of the island, which had only moments ago felt like a sanctuary, now felt like a cage. The weight of his father's death, an old, raw wound he had thought was caused by fate or petty crime, was now revealed to be the deliberate act of a master manipulator. David understood, with chilling clarity, that his entire life, his career, his descent into the underworld, and even his eventual quest for peace, had been orchestrated as part of this man’s grand design.

They needed out. The she-bear finally hauled herself over the lip and disappeared from view. David shot Maddox one last hard look, grabbed the rope, and pulled himself up in three powerful heaves. On solid ground again, he glanced back down into the pit, fingers itching to kick the loop free and leave the lone wolf to rot. “David?” Heather’s voice cut through the roar of fire and distant shouts. He turned, and the sight of her alive, whole cracked something in his chest. He gave Maddox the nod. The scarred shifter climbed fast, joining them in seconds.

"Who am I speaking with?*David demanded to know. What was more important is how she got his number. He was the Alpha and so his identity and contacts were kept hidden. It looked worrisome and so Alex stopped by the door. He was watching the alpha talk. "All right, this seems like a case where I would need to see you and luckily I have time today come by my house" David hung up the call and stared at the Alpha. "Apologies for the rude interruption. I have a troubled woman I would like to solve the case" Something in Alpha Alex tingled. His wolf whispered to him to stay. "Alpha David, can I please join you? I would like to witness how you'll solve this troubled case?"

Both hands were agile tinkering with the iPad. "Done!" He said with a grin. Sisca looked at David questioningly. "You better get out of my bedroom now, Mr. That annoying Dave. " Sisca grumbled again. Pushing David's broad chest out of her bedroom.

He nodded, a mixture of curiosity and wariness in his expression, and answered the call, opting to put it on loudspeaker for Delilah to listen in. David's voice echoed through the phone, "I'm free from those bars, Stephen. The Patrol leader must have informed you about the bail." Stephen, teeth gritted, responded with a steely determination, "Don't think you'll find peace, David. Your crimes won't allow it." David, seemingly unfazed, countered, "I know that. But I haven't called you to hear all this. There's something I need to tell you. Something that might help you find the real culprit."

The fact that Finn was the one that shot Beatrice was likely killing David right now, his loyalties were torn between being angry with Finn for hurting our girl and being protective of how his friend had been manipulated to hurt her. This exact reason was why the Bianchi’s hadn’t run into much legal trouble in the past five years since David joined the FBI. He protected his family. He was hard to tie to the Bianchi’s and it was a good thing because he had done some shady, barely legal shit in the last few years to make sure his brother and sister were protected.
