Elizabeth Wolves - too many to count - falling around me, their blood soaking the snow rapidly. Some I recognized, some I didn’t. I ran, shifted, lunged and fought, but I was always too slow. Every time I reached one, another went down somewhere else. I was outnumbered. They’d been outnumbered. Surrounded. Slaughtered. And I couldn’t save them. Dawn searched around, picking up the familiar scent amidst the unpleasant stench of corpses and red snow.

"Ean, don't leave, please!" She clung to Ean, but he slowly pried her hands off his arm, his tone hardening. "If you're really scared, I'll have the doctor give you something to help you sleep. You won't be scared anymore." Helen stared at him, her disbelief evident. I could not help but laugh bitterly. So, he was refusing her now? Why couldn't he refuse her back then? Ean stormed off, and I followed him. His assistant rushed over, breathless. "Mr. Smith, the surveillance footage shows someone sneaking into the freezer that night. They were heavily disguised, and we're investigating it!"

Rivals at Dawn, The first light of dawn crept over the horizon, bleeding soft gold and amber through the thick trees surrounding the pack’s territory. Mist clung low to the ground like a shroud, wrapping the world in silence and anticipation. Elena stood alone on the ridge, the wind tugging at her hair and the folds of her cloak. I felt my flesh beginning to dissolve, my soul expanding to fill the void of the Frozen Sea. The High Queen let out a roar of defiance, lunging for us with her mist-claws. But we weren't there anymore. We were the Dawn.

Jade's POV ​The dawn didn’t bring warmth; it brought a flat, clinical light that turned the frozen landscape into a high-contrast nightmare. The skeletal branches of the pines were etched in charcoal against a sky the color of unpolished zinc. Behind us, the smoke from the lodge was a thin, grey needle stitching the earth to the clouds.

A kind of moment where the midnight, and early rise of morning meets in a certain knock of light in the blues of darkness, and right now, the moment was just it; the blend of dark blue, deepening it with the blooming light to rise, as downside was the awakened Seoul in city-lights; a faint shore of wavering Han river, the bridge of it was still gleaming in the lights of brightness. The late midnight rain had left the chilling breeze of the gone winters, blooming spring, and the freshness of the soil.

There was a hint of hesitation creeping in. “The hole in Nelson Corporation’s finances is pretty massive this time. Could we, uh… temporarily use some of the assets under your name?” “Do whatever you want.” It did not matter. My assets had already been frozen. Whatever she tried now would be in vain. Overjoyed, Rosie lunged forward to hug me, but I easily dodged her. “I’m tired. I need to rest.” Without waiting for her response, I stood and headed toward the bedroom. As I turned, a man’s voice suddenly called out from upstairs.

[Dawn] “Dawn?” he asks, his voice soft but sharp, cutting through the quiet. His forest-green eyes lock onto mine, and the heat in them is devastating. It’s like they’re burning through every layer of my defenses, leaving me bare. The air between us feels alive—crackling, dangerous, and impossible to ignore. “Oh, I need the snacks… down… here.” My words stumble out, half a thought, because my brain is already foggy. I can feel his gaze on me, heavy and deliberate.

Hailey turned around to observe the room, the windows were closed, and the room temperature was perfect, but Dawn seemed sick. She quickly called Leo, he rushed in the room. He placed the back of his palm on her temples. "Dawn, what's wrong?" He queried softly. "It's... it's freezing,'' she muttered. Leo observed her for quite some time. "I'll go prepare her some tea. Bring her downstairs" he instructed leaving the room. An hour later, Dawn seemed worse. She kept on requesting for her daddy, and Hailey was left with no other choice than to call Chase.
