It says Abby is ‘ready’, that the Queen is failing, that Abby will bring proof to Glassworks.” Nate’s voice carries from the doorway, he must’ve followed despite the sling. “And it says she’ll come with no guards.” Adrian’s eyes flash. “Absolutely not.” Nate doesn’t blink. “It’s a lie.” Lia appears behind him, calm and merciless. “We can make the lie believable.” Melody’s voice cuts in from the hall, sharp. “I can make the Queen look worse without killing her.
