Goodluck could only smile as he moved towards her, he couldn't tell her what he did, but he still had to take the credit for sending the intruder away, some people just need to know when to leave, he had dinner already why not leave, but he wanted to stay the night, he thanked his stars, he got the idea, now he was sure, a simple text disorganized him, he couldn't even come up with a decent lie, he told him he had to leave because something about work came up urgently. Well it may have been a good lie if he didn't know the real reason behind his leaving, but because he knew, it was looking like a very cheap lie.

"I got scratched by a branch on the way back," he said calmly, then pressed his lips tight. I lowered my gaze and dug my nails deep into my palms, using the sharp sting to push back the burning in my eyes. When Trey lied, the corners of his mouth would tighten ever so slightly. It was a habit he hadn't even realized he had. He was lying to me. "Is it serious? Want me to dress it for you?" I asked.

"I don't discuss my client list." "That's not a no." "It's not a yes, either." He leaned closer, his cologne cutting through the club's mixed scents—something expensive with notes of cedar and leather. "I will say this: I don't work for people who want to hurt good people."
