Chapter 27 – Escape & Ecstasy Sera’s POV The warehouse loomed ahead, a monstrous silhouette against the moonlit sky. My fingers tightened around the steering wheel as adrenaline coursed through my veins. Raven was inside—Ethan had taken her, and I was here to get her back. The location I had stolen from Ethan’s phone led me to this industrial hellhole, a place meant to keep people hidden. But Ethan underestimated me. He thought I was weak, caged, just his obedient little wife.

I could still feel Aaron's control through the phone. But I wasn't going to stay. Not this time. I walked through the house, studying every corner. There was a guard outside, but he looked bored, careless. It was enough. I climbed down from the second-floor bedroom window, carefully lowering myself into the garden below, then hoisted myself over the low fence. The wind whipped against my face, and I almost cried out. Finally... I was free again. I ran desperately along the familiar streets. Twilight was falling, and the distant glow of the streetlights became my only guide.

The witches used them quite a lot during the hunt, it helped them escape quickly when they were being chased,” the silver-haired woman brushes herself down as she looks around the living room curiously while taking off her coat. “How did we end up here?” Raven ask

He didn't even look down when he dropped the bottle. The doctor came and checked my pupils and blood pressure, then said, "It's a miracle! This is an unprecedented case!" Lying on the bed, I listened to them, but my mind was in a mess. The system's voice rang out again. "Host, Charles gave up his own life in exchange for you to start a new life in another world. This is my final word. Goodbye." I lay on the bed. The golden rays of light spilled in from outside, casting a soft hue on the back of my hand.

She cried out to Mother in the same wheedling tone she always used, "Mother, you won't abandon me, will you?" The voice that had once brought Mother comfort now sounded like a death sentence. She screamed and tried to run, but a sharp blade landed directly behind her. Realizing that escape was impossible, she immediately turned to scold Victoria, "You committed these crimes yourself! How can you make me pay for them?" The three beastmen watched them shift blame to each other, exchanged glances, and said, "Since neither of you wants to do it, we'll deal with both of you together."

A second later, Rachel burst out of the house, grabbed my hand, and dragged me away. Rachel had a surprisingly strong grip. I stumbled forward, barely keeping up as she ran. Kai and Lex tried to chase after us, but Rachel shot them a glare sharp enough to cut glass and shouted, "If you dare follow us, we'll vanish again. See if you can find us next time!" At that, the two men froze mid-step, left standing there in stunned silence, helplessly watching us disappear down the road. Rachel didn't stop pulling me until we were both out of breath. She finally let go once we reached a bench by the roadside, and I collapsed onto it, gasping for air.
