I really was. Victoria's explanation was flawless and impossible to pick apart. But I simply shook my head and walked straight through security without a backward glance. She stood there, eyes red-rimmed. Edward looked at me and asked, "You're really done with her?" "Yeah. Women are despicable like that," I replied. "Push them away, and they'll chase after you. But if you give in the moment they beg, they'll think they've got you wrapped around their finger. "Does she think I'm so worthless that she can do this to me? "I'm not an impostor. Do you believe me now?" Lydia snatched the report out of Jeremy's hands and scanned her hazy eyes over the words. A bewildered expression crossed her face before it morphed into one of deep fear and hopelessness. "This is impossible! This can't be!" she exclaimed as she tore the report apart and scattered the pieces everywhere. "The report must be fake! You're working together to trick me! Monsters! You're monsters who stole my husband's and son's identities! How dare you try to fool me with this useless report!"

My heart felt as if it wanted to explode in my chest. I was momentarily glad that I was already kneeling on the ground because my legs were weak, and I was not sure if they’d be able to hold up my weight. The imposter walked up to me and slapped me across the face before I had time to react to what I was seeing. “How dare you pretend that you’re me!” She scolded. “You helped that monster kidnap me and then you pretend that you are me!? You are truly sick!!” I stared at her in disbelief; who was this monster? How did she pose to be me? How was this possible?

Cocking the AK-47 in my hand, I shouted, "It's over, impostor! You are surrounded. If I were you, I would surrender right now!" The imposter was visibly taken aback. His eyes were widened in shock and his muscular body trembled. He pointed at me and stuttered, "How...how are you alive?" "Surprise, surprise!" I said, opening my arms in mockery. "You thought you could kill me and take my place forever, huh?" My words made his face change. The next second, he ran to the door close by and opened it. He walked into the balcony and shouted, "You really have a lot of nerve showing up here after six years!"

The book replied in golden letters, “Princess Eloise is in the werewolf realm.” Mars said, “How is that possible?” I asked the book, “Where is she? Where can we find her?” The book said, “She dwells in the soul of the she-wolf Clara impersonates.” I looked at Clara, “Who are you impersonating?” She opened her eyes wide and said, “Marcy.” The book said, “Yes, that’s the name. Marcy.” Mars said, “No wonder. She was acting like two different people at the same time.”

On the speaker, Eliana’s voice echoed, sharp and clear: “My dearest Dimitri… that fool Enzo has no idea. But we're going to make sure they pay for what they did."

Levi’s POV Ruth shakes her head at my disregard for paperwork, then continues explaining her process to me. “I grouped together all of the demons that are able to teleport between the human and demon realm and put them on page one and the top of page two. I think our imposter is more than likely on that section of the list.” I glance down at pages one and two, taking in the names on the list more seriously. Could one of these demons be the one that is masquerading as the Demon King? I glance back up at Ruth when she continued to speak.
