“As in the Dante? Heaven and Hell Club?” Justin nods, oblivious, but my eyes narrow. I know exactly who Dante is. I’ve been to the Heaven part of the club—it’s just like any other, loud music, dancing, drinks. But the Hell part? That’s a different story. The rumors are everywhere, and if even half of them are true, this man profits from women. Selling them, using them. Men like him are everything I despise.

“A curse that will put you into the deeper sanction of your darkest fear and inevitable death. A poem created to inflict pain and suffering for those who come across with it and will bring death unto the foolish ones who will lead it out loud. Just how cunning the God who wrote this world and book, for cursing it for real this time.” Giggling in pure amusement and having the chill of thinking about the deaths and curses the book will inflict upon its readers. By which in reality will be all too late for their poor soul to realize since they all and might probably already be at the half of it reading it intently with the roller coaster ride from the existence of time within the very book. I was late morning when Tristan entered the room pulling my head of the book, I looked at him in slight amazement. “We have the conference call in twenty minutes.” He greeted stepping into the room as I looked up. “What?” He asked and I held up the book. “Tristan, this book.” I stated not really knowing how to explain it. “It’s a novel, just a story that I found in the library, but it’s based on a family of werewolves, the two daughters, twins, were born with a special gift, they could produce fire and ice.” I uttered and watched as his brows rose. “They later became joint alphas of the their pack. Do you think this could be the story of the alpha twins that we were looking for?”

Lucius is his brother and what she can’t understand is why he would lock him up. “As you can’t understand with your pitiful low intelligence,” Axl padded as he walked past her with sarcasm hinting his tone. “It’s the prophecy what the Kings and Queens of Hell, or whatever you prefer to call it – underworld, must follow. This kind of prophecy holds a terrifying punishment if not succeeded and it’s becoming a mortal. I was once the King of Hell since the prophecy wasn’t written yet on the scroll. But then, it wrote: Lucius as the king having a wife from the mortal world and me…as only a prince!” Axl smashed his fist on the table in front of him, resulting in Emily to startle. Gaetano screamed. “It’s my turn to make you suffer. You killed my baby, so I’ve killed your son. And now, I will make sure you will witness the death of your wife.” My voice was calm and steady as I spoke to him. “My dear father, you were playing with The Devil’s Fire. And you’re about to get burned.” I gave him a vicious smile. “I want him outside, tied to a pole.” I said to Damiano. “Your wish is my command, mia Donna.” Damiano looked at Gaetano with a sinister look, and for once, I think Damiano was curious to see what I had planned.

“Then I’ll just have to make sure that doesn’t happen. He snapped his fingers. And Calista’s body burst into flames under Hellfire.

“And acting skittish about it?” Letting out an irritated grunt, she explains. “Let's just say years ago the council grew scared the book could mistakenly get out to humans if discovered, so it was banned from society and burnt to ashes. Or at least, the copy of the book was burnt. A long time ago-” She hesitates, staring at me for a brief second, before continuing. “An ancestor of mine wrote this book and no one has any idea I have the only original with me. If anyone finds out I have this in my possession my entire family would be punished and I can’t let that happen, they’re already facing enough being defects.”

His thumb strokes slowly, like a warning disguised as affection. We turn a corner, and then I see it. HELL UNDERGROUND . A club I’ve only heard about in whispers, late-night horror stories, rumors from flight attendants, stories so wild people swore it wasn’t real. A place where the rich go to sin. Where people disappear into back rooms and come out changed. Where the wrong look can get you dragged into a basement you’ll never leave. And now? I think I’m married to the owner.

“Boom!” The violent jolt blacked out my vision for a moment, my organs feeling as if they’d shifted inside me. Yet through the dust, a surge of grim satisfaction coursed through me when I saw their terrified faces. Just as I steadied the car and prepared for the next strike, a deafening roar filled the air. The massive sound of a helicopter drew near, and through the loudspeakers above came the team manager’s voice. “Found them! Fire brigade! Put out the fire!”
