The Housemaid Book Explained Novels & Stories

He walks out before I try to ask him to send some books to keep me busy. I ended up falling asleep and a knock at the door alerted me. The door opens, and a maid walks in with a tray. I didn't bother to ask this one question after remembering what I first did in the morning. She walks out leaving me in the room again. I sat myself up and rubbed my sleepy eyes. I was about to open the food when another maid entered with her hands filled with books. She dropped it on the bed. "Miss Cali asks me to bring you books. She further said if you need anything, that you should convey messages to her." I smiled and looked at the books on the bed. How does she fucking know what I need?.

Maybe I’m just naive for still hoping there’s something good in him. But right now, I can’t see it. Not when everything feels like it’s falling apart. Knock, knock. The sound of the door pulled me from the haze of my reading. I looked up, my heart still heavy with everything I’d just uncovered. “Come in,” I called, setting the book aside. The head maid stepped inside, bowing low…more respectfully than she ever had before. There was a nervousness to her movements, like she wasn’t sure how to act around me anymore.

I replied her I didn't know much place around the building and so she offered to help me. She stopped outside a door and told me to input the password I was given then she backed me, more like preventing herself from seeing what I'm to press. "Password?" I muttered to myself. The only passcode I could recall having is the one of Chase's room. Without wasting much time, I inputted the passcode and the door opened. The maid bowed down and walked away. I stepped into the library and was taken aback, I didn't ever think their would be a library in such a house. It was filled with books neatly arranged.

How dare he make fun of what I cherish? "What's wrong with you Daniel? How dare you joke with me?" I asked dragging him in. It's high time,he knows I'm his mom, not his playmate or whatsoever he feels. "I wasn't playing when I said I've found your book, I saw it in the maids quarter. I think one of them took it. I wanted to go pick it up for you but one of the maids wouldn't let me into their room, she claimed the rest of them were taking a bath" my eyes widened. Why would a maid take the book I kept and who's the maid?

“Yes. Every maid must pass through me. They need to learn loyalty, discipline, and the ability to follow without delay. This mansion does not welcome slow minds. Do you understand?” Harsh, I thought, but he wasn’t entirely wrong. “Yes. It means this mansion won’t accept slow-minded maids who can’t quickly grasp commands.” “Correct.” We reached a massive wooden door. He pushed it open, and my eyes widened. It was breathtaking. The library stretched wide, its shelves climbing toward the ceiling, even reaching into a second floor. Rows upon rows of books, polished wooden tables in the center, and study corners along the sides—it felt less like a private library and more like a grand public one.

Prince Marihl sneaked books and kissed the maid's fingers. Wren had never told a soul of such memories. She still carried them under her tongue like a rusted blade, never fully swallowed. Wren touched a stalk of dried lavender. So young, that maid had been. Too brave, too clever. Always asking about books no maid should be asking about. Always sneaking bites of lemon rind and talking about freedom like it was something you could wrap in a scarf and carry under your blouse. A burst of gossip snagged her attention near the vegetable stalls.

“Ma’am, you can't be here. This is a… “ the maid trailed off as Aurora raised her hand without looking up at her or shifting her focus from the book. The maid froze and Aurora opened the book. It was an ancient book of spells and it was way better than the one Lucino burnt or the one she was reading in Tanya’s place. Aurora closed the book and finally turned to the maid. “Oh,” she muttered and stared at her as she walked towards her. She got to her and poked her cheek. There was no movement from the maid. Aurora smirked and headed out of the basement with the book. She got out and snapped her finger. The maid in the basement regained consciousness and wondered what had happened or what she w

Then he’ll decide what to do with her but right now he doesn’t give a shit as she’s guilty in his eyes until proven innocent. The sun rises and a women enters Mariah’s room and wakes her up. She’s a maid and she tells her that Sir Adam has ordered Mariah to wash herself up, change her clothes and come down. Mariah asks a lot of questions but the maid doesn’t answer any of her question. Please!” Mar

she answered. “What does she look like then?” Chelsea asked. The maid scratches her nape as she tries to remember what the woman looks like. She looks quite like you, Miss, but she has long red hair. We are almost the same height. She also makes me hurry to call you…” The maid answered while seeming to be in a hurry. It was obvious from Chelsea’s face that she knew who had visited the mansion. “I see. I will be there. Please tell her to wait for me in the living room, and also tell her to not touch anything.”

The housekeeper became my stepmother, and together with her son, they plotted to kill me. After being reborn, I exposed a video of her affair at her own wedding, destroying her reputation completely. I watched as she and her son were kicked out. They left with nothing, wandering the streets like outcasts.
