She opens her bag to bring out her towel when her stomach groans. “Awch” she said holding her stomach. “So hungry,” she said sighing as she couldn’t remember when last she was this hungry the few times she spent at Alex's mansion, she was flooded with meals, nutritious meals that caused much if she wanted to eat it outside or make them herself. She carried her wallet and left the room to go get something so she wouldn’t die of hunger. It was noon already, Alex didn’t go to work and yet he hasn’t seen Hazel around.

Alex noticed her when she was ordering a meal. He followed her and saw the room in which she was staying. But because he still wanted answer's as to who really tried to kill him and why. He decided to return back to his room. Late at night, Carmen felt a craving she had not been expecting the worst she had ever experienced. She went to the kitchen. She was attended by Mrs Jones, the cook. "Do you have any meat left?" Carmen asked in a weak voice. "We have pork chops." "Put the in a plate, I am hungry."

Alexa had her fingers crossed, as she knelt in front of the television, waiting for them to reach the Love Pack. "From the Desire Pack, Phoenix Diamond," the female presenter read out, glancing from the paper in her hand, to the camera. Alexa looked over her shoulder at me. "Have you heard of her." Shaking my head no, I wonder briefly why I would know someone from the Desire Pack. Alexa has always been a lot more popular than me; online, and off. She has her hands in friend groups I didn't know existed, and now, I've gotten used to being the one friend left out.

Cassian said, his voice quiet but firm. Lena shook her head. “No time.” She didn’t know what awaited her at home, but she knew she had to get there. The mark on her wrist pulsed faintly—an unsettling reminder that time was slipping away. Cassian studied her, then sighed, running a hand through his dark hair. “At least eat something.” Before she could argue, Dorian tossed an apple in her direction. She caught it instinctively. “Eat up, darling. We can’t have you collapsing before the dramatic revelations.”

She went ahead with her plan to make friends with the other women of Grime, heading over to some of the female encampments, glad she wasn’t the only one dressed in the ridiculous attire. Supper that evening consisted of spicy mutton soup which disturbed Mel as she had never really fancied spicy dishes. The women assured her that there were varying degrees of how the dish could be prepared and they made the exception of preparing a milder variation for Mel, something she insisted she could do without.

The other end picked up and I said I need a donor now. My office was only a few blocks away and it took all my willpower to make it there and not suck the life out of some random person on the street. When I made it to my office my donor was waiting for me and I didn’t hesitate and took her in my arms and sunk my teeth right into her flesh, trying to stop the hunger that was taking over inside of me. I drank until I felt the body in my arms losing conscience and knew I had to stop or I was going to kill her but the hunger inside of me wasn’t even remotely satisfied. I pulled away and laid the body onto the floor and made another call for another and a cleanup crew.

I turned back toward the kitchen counter, my steps slower now, the sharp edge of hunger cutting through my ribs again as the silence settled back into the room. I could have literally starved in here. And at this point, I didn’t even care how picky I was supposed to be—I’d eat whatever they brought up. Anything that wasn’t the hollow ache sitting in my stomach right now would do. I dragged a hand down my face and reached for my phone again. The screen lit up immediately. Messages. A lot of them. From my girls. Sienna: Did you actually ghost us again? What the hell is wrong with you Alma?

Will you be able to do it?” Alma raised her head, her gaze hard. The countdown had begun. And she knew that each passing day would bring her closer to a truth she might not be ready to hear.
