It echoed through the territory, crawling into the bones of every creature within earshot. * Blood Moon Pack Killian woke to the sight of a beautiful face resting on his bed. Her hair fanned across the pillow, framing her like clouds around the moon. A few soft strands brushed against her face, and he felt a pang of jealousy that they could touch her while he could only watch. Her pink lips were parted slightly, her fingers clutching the sheet as if in a dream, one leg tucked beneath the other. She looked as innocent as a sleeping child.

I could not sleep. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw Morvanna's face. Heard her cold admission of murdering my parents. Felt the power stirring beneath my skin like something alive and hungry. Three days until the full moon. Three days until she came for me. I needed answers. And there was only one place I might find them. Tears squeezed from the corners of her eyes. Her hair lashed her cheeks. The circle of light above shrank. The rim of the cathedral became a thin ring. The only source of light was the luminous moon, its coruscating rays lending an air of mysticism. When the full orb of the moon reached its highest peak, Liam threw his head back and howled. A haunting tone, one that spoke of his loneliness, that spoke of regret, that wished with every breath for a companion, a tone that hid a melancholy, hoping that it would one day be answered by an equal. That would not be today. Today, all that answered his call were groans of pain and the gasps from the spectators gathered around. The kids were changing. Liam watched carefully, making sure each of the little ones was coming though alright. For some reason he had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach.

The upcoming full moon must have been affecting both of us more than we’d realise. Once we’d both settled again, we continued with our research and talked a lot in between. It felt nice getting to know Everett more and genuinely being his friend, even if a small inkling of me, way in the back of my mind, desired something different. Something more. Getting to know him more was a nice break from reading about all the families that left the pack after the hospital fire. My suspicion was correct: there was an article about each of the families, all of them brutally murdered in their homes, and all happening the night of a full moon.

Beatrice asks, and I narrow my eyes at her. How does she know about that as well? Is that the reason why Killian is circling around Nova? He wants her. He wants her power. He wants every fucking thing that she can offer. But I am not going to let him have it. Nova is so fucking pure.
