The Last Angel Ascension Novels & Stories

I gasped, my fingers clawing at the silver mesh. "The transaction is complete, Zora," Dante said, stepping over me as if I were nothing more than a discarded wrapper. "Don't make it harder than it has to be." They dragged me toward the "Ascension Altar"—a massive block of obsidian at the edge of the garden, overlooking the entire city. Below us, the lights of Aethelgard were flickering and dying. The oxygen was almost gone. I could feel the collective gasp of a million people through the neural link.

“What in Beelzebub’s name is going on here?” That velvety, unmistakable voice suddenly stopped our every action, drawing our attention and the very moment we looked up, our guardian archangels slowly descended from the perfectly clear sky, Lucifer’s ebony with a tinge of red wings gracefully flapping through the air as he firstly touched the ground, quickly followed by Azrael, Gabriel and Michael. I simply stared at them in awe, silently admiring Michael and Gabriel’s wings, -since this was the first time I was actually seeing them- noticing the few bloody red feathers at each ending, contrasting that pure white, also exhaling in relief, feeling so thankful for their such great timing.

I continued, voice steady despite the knot tightening in my chest, “what would’ve happened?” He didn’t answer immediately. “That’s not something the council knows either,” he said finally. “But if I had to guess…” His voice lowered. “You wouldn’t be standing here.” A chill crawled up my spine. “Possession?” I asked. “Ascension,” he corrected. “Which is just possession with prettier language.” I swallowed. “Then she’ll try again.” “Yes.” “When?” Rael’s gaze flicked upward, toward the pale sky. “Soon.” The pendant pulsed faintly in agreement.

Hale looked at Harvey with a serious look, as if he was arranging words in his mind. After a long time, he said, "Mr. Harvey, the Chapter of Ascension is like a dream to me. If I hold it right now, not only will I not be able to make myself invincible, but it will most likely kill me.

As angels are to heaven. "It says that once an angel ascends. All evil will come to end his life. A war between satan and the angels will happen once again. All descendants of both good and evil will fight against each other. But one will again side with the angels. And bring forth the ascending of the angel said in the scroll." "And who is this that will bring forth the ascending of the angel?" "A devil." Rain's jaw suddenly dropped. "What?"

She growled softly, anger burning through her body, ‘How fucking dare they! She was about to rip them off when a bolt of electricity pierced her body, and she yelled in pain, ‘Just making sure you understand what will happen if you try to escape.’ A voice said close to her ear, and when she turned her head, she saw the youngest of the ‘Angels’, that was what they looked like, stunningly handsome Archangels, with varying shades of blonde hair and blue eyes. They were perfect, each of them different but also the same, as if they were siblings, but they were nothing of the sort; these were the Dark Angels Warriors. He was the antithesis of the Creator, and he was desperate to prevent her ascens

Without realizing it, someone was standing in the doorway, watching him. Jackson turned around and intended to take a towel and take a shower and return to Paris. The quarantine period is up. He didn't need to reminisce about Beverly anymore. After all, didn't he himself want her to get away from him? Then why did he now hope that Beverly was looking for him? Long life! He lifted a corner of his mouth, thinking how dumb Pika's idea was, how stupid these souls were to believe a guardian that hates him. "Are you all realizing your end?" He questions them, keeping a calm face, playing along with what they were plotting. "Isn't it time for all of you to surrender? Give up already!" "We don't know that word! No one taught us that!" The Angel of Death let out a dark chuckle, noticing how they all were ready to fire at him but their aim is the cube that the lady is imprisoned to. "Well then, let me teach you it!"

"Born with these gifts, not infected with them. These Ascended are thieves, stealing power that doesn't belong to them. We must strike first or be destroyed." The second movement was somehow worse. The Ascension Church, founded by a charismatic pastor named John Redfield, claimed the transformation was divine intervention. The Rapture. God elevates humanity to its rightful place above all other creatures. "We have been chosen," Redfield preached to thousands of Ascended followers.
