“I’m just drinking coffee.”
“Right,” I said, crossing my arms. “Because coffee’s obviously more interesting than me.”
He didn’t bite, he just took another sip.
I glared at him. “So, you’re just gonna act like last night didn’t happen?”
His jaw flexed, but his voice stayed even. “It happened. That’s all.”
“That’s all?” I repeated, raising my eyebrows. “Seriously?”
“Yes, seriously.” He set the cup down a little too hard. “I told you last night it was the last time and I meant it.”
