I read ' The Last Good Man ' by Patience Swift in my first year in college. What had attracted me to the book was the name - The Last Good Man. I couldn't agree more with Patience Swift that Sam was literally the last good man on earth because it was obvious that the earth was becoming something else. In fact, at the time, I concluded that he was the last man, the rest of us living on planet earth were animals, and the wild ones preyed on the domestic ones. It was evident in everyday life that there were two factions in the world; the predators, and the prey, and every prey was trying so hard to become a predator, while the predators were still on their toes, lest they fall from their status

Jo hugged the book to her chest like it was a precious child. Lucy burst out laughing. "I’m honored to share your big dark secret. But... I’m not much of a reader." Those were the famous last words. Within hours, Lucy was completely engrossed, eyes devouring every page Jo had handed her. Jo wandered back into the room carrying a plate of fruit. She popped a grape into her mouth and watched, amused, as Lucy flipped furiously through the novel, completely absorbed.

You didn't reply to my messages at all. "Yes... delicious," replied Aini, sounding a little cold. He even stared outside and refused to listen to Leo, who had already spoken. "Why... didn't you come last night?" asked Aini finally. This made Leo silent for a few moments; luckily, they were at a red light. He blinked a few times and faced Aini, trying to understand what she was saying.

Adam took a heavy sigh "i did something, something very horrible and i don't know how you can ever forgive me'' Riley's face was beginning to change now and everything Ana said was slowly coming back to her. " what did you do?' " remember chad's party last year, the time you were visiting Ana in new york?'' Adam asked, riley nodded " Well, i was very drunk and i ermm, i mistakingly slept with someone" Riley couldn't find the right words or the right expression at that point, the whole room had become totally different to her. She felt time stop and she didn't know the word to utter.

And the last words from the child echo: “The girl who disappeared… is the world’s end.”

I glanced at the last two chances for forgiveness I was holding onto and finally spoke, "Alright, thanks, professor." Just then, Walter walked in. "Who were you talking to? The professor?" he inquired, curiosity in his eyes. He dropped a bag on the table, the contents hidden from view. I ended the call and faced him, trying to keep my voice even. "Nothing important, just some questions." Walter's frown deepened, his gaze probing. "What kind of questions? It's pretty late for that, isn't it?" I met his gaze, my own brows knitting together. "Just about an experiment, nothing to worry about."

Surely, he would be very happy to hear this. “Ice, instead of this whole thing, why don't you just tell me what was written on the last page? Surely, you would know.” I was met with disappointment. “I don't. As I said, you're the first person to ever read that book after the goddess. She's the one who wrote it and you're the one who read it first. Surely, the book would be destroyed after all this is over. Some knowledge shouldn't be passed down to irresponsible hands.” Well, isn't that just wonderful?
