Gregg saw through the smoke that the person walking toward him and his daughter held what looked like an ax. “Hello?” Gregg called out to the dark figure. “Can you help us?” He shouted. He thought the dark figure was a firefighter. At least, that’s what he hoped. The pain in his leg was causing his voice to crack and tremble. *Who is that? That’s not my wife*. Those were the thoughts that were echoing through Gregg’s mind as he stared straight ahead at the approaching dark figure.
